generally it's better to have a separate router for WiFi anyway as modems and modem/router combo devices generally are horrible about getting updates for very long if at all which is bad if security flaws are found

  16. It's useless or at least a PITA to use if you have more than one device. Not really an apples to apples comparison. I use it on five devices. Setup involved putting the database in OneDrive and opening it up when needed. Desktop, Surface Pro, Surface Go, Samsung Galaxy, Kindle Fire.

  18. I'm here to recommend KeePass. It's ugly as all heck, but works great and it's free. I use 2FA on it, so the password DB lives in the cloud, but the keyfile required to unlock it is copied locally only.

"Hey Bob, what are you investing in at the moment?" "Nothing!" "But that's a bit shortsighted Bob, you really ought to have some sort of portfolio to complement your 401K" "Yeah, I just dumped $20k into Nothing" "Sounds like a waste of money to me Bob, you should be more careful with your money"

  30. LastPass Free will no longer sync mobile and PC passwords at the same time

I would still consider switching to Bitwarden... Open source, recently audited, and more reasonably priced. I personally wouldn't use a closed source security product owned by a private equity firm. I don't use open source anything, except LibreOffice. So...I'm happy for you. I suppose doing the opposite of what most security experts recommend is one way to go. Do you also use closed source encryption? LOL

  31. Switch to Bitwarden anyway, you won't regret it Is a paid service. Yes, Lastpass is paid. Bitwarden is free as long as you don't need Yubikey support.

Biometrics on BitWarden is free on iOS, Windows and Browser but TOTP is a paid feature (~$10 a year). I self host my instance and back it up to AWS S3. I never felt comfortable with my passwords in someone else's cloud.

  36. F9: Starlink v1.0 Launch #17 & #19

A good example of what they're talking about would be from this launch from January 2020... which isn't what was seen on last night's launch. (18:40 - 19:02) ...still...24 landings in row before this failure. 👍

  41. Apple's next iPhone to reportedly include an always-on display

Yeah but where does notification LED exist any more? It exists only in Sony Xperia phones now and ASUS Zenfone 7. It is basically extinct due to AOD. He just said what he preferred. LOL Funny how you ask what phones have a multicolor notification LED then list phones that have it. A full display with slim bezels on a phone with AOD and a multicolor notification LED would be the perfect device.

  43. It's either punch hole or notch. The under display cameras are still not that great, let alone being able to put a Face ID projector under one. Apple will go portless before they go usb-c on an iPhone. The only thing that might realistically return is Touch ID, but it'd be a supplement to FaceID, Apple isn't ever going to get rid of it. So yeah, you'll be waiting a long time.

  45. Apple's next iPhone to reportedly include an always-on display

Cant you read? "Just like the Apple Watch, it's going to use an LTPO display, which should let Apple have an always-on screen without sucking on power." Don't need to read. From experience, my Apple Watch 6 has longer battery life if I turn off AOD.

Only Capitalist States of America allows essential workers to be treated like garbage, so rich people can continue to be richer as both cheer on that this is some 'Freedom from Communism' garbage. Good luck trying that BS in Europe.

  49. Facebook saw a drop in hate speech prevalence during Q4 2020

Genuinely curious, though... you say "what they constitute hate speech, not necessarily actual hate speech". Have you got specific examples of speech you would define not as hate speech, but Facebook would?
