Fact check: Frozen wind turbines don't deserve all the blame for Texas blackouts https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2021/02/17/fact-check-frozen-wind-turbines-not-only-reason-texas-blackouts/6784789002/ The claim that frozen wind turbines are to blame for blackouts in Texas is MISSING CONTEXT. While some wind production is offline in the state, it is losing far more generation from thermal sources that produce the majority of power in Texas. Some wind turbines are frozen, but that is because turbines in Texas aren’t built to withstand unusually cold temperatures, as are turbines in colder climates where wind production is used.3 points -

You comparing Limbaugh's history of racism, bigotry and basically being an absolute cu*t with the honorable service RBG gave her country is as inane as people who attempt to compare BLM with the violent attempted coup to overthrow a legitimately elected Government. Nintendo announces The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD for the Switch
suni08 and 2 others reacted to indospot for a topic
There's no shortage of outrage out there, for what it's worth. And people have been ok with this strategy because 1 - it's nothing new to Nintendo and Iwata wasn't exempt from similar strategies; and 2 - Most of the ports have been from the Wii U, which no one had, so these are new games for most people. Also the majority of the ports, especially the more recent ones, have at least added something. All that aside, as big of a Nintendo fan as I am, this announcement really didn't resonate with me. The difference in power between the Wii and Switch is significant, and for them to do so little to the graphics feels very underwhelming, and that's coming from someone who rarely cares about graphics. I really hope they're holding back something that will push me to pre-order it.3 points -

Microsoft Garage introduces a new Journal app to rethink inking

Ya, cause Apple never saw the original Journal or used OneNote in a page context. Or used WordXP with Tablet Extensions from 2002. So Microsoft copied from Apple the features Apple copied from Microsoft? FFS Really?3 points -

Microsoft Garage introduces a new Journal app to rethink inking
Ideas Man and one other reacted to Fleet Command for a topic
Microsoft first introduced inking with Microsoft Tablet PC in 2002. Note-shaped pages were already part of Microsoft Outlook. By the time Apple Notes came out, we already had Sticky Notes from Windows Vista, not to mention OneNote in Microsoft Office. Apple fans are famous for throwing unkind accusations like this. These accusations have never gone near a court or a judge because even Apple doesn't think they have any substance. And nobody even mentions Forget-Me-Not, a sticky note app for Windows 95 that a fame-less developer released in 1996 for $10.2 points -

But isn't asking the government for emergency relief , socialism ? I saw that Ted Cruz was demanding Biden push for federal relief, which is socialism But the reality is, just as the far north is is equipped for extreme heat, texas just isn't built for extreme cold This isn't a left vs right energy thing Everything from natural gas, coal, nuclear and even wind all failed due to poor winterization policies and building codes not meant for this kind of cold . Texas is built for extreme heat Wind turbines in the extreme north don't fail, when properly maintained as an example1 point -
