Windows 10X reportedly delayed once again
Emon and 6 others reacted to seeprime for a topic
You want to kill a product you haven't seen yet and don't have to use anyway? Product I have seen, tried and don't want Windows to go that way. It's hard to imagine that there are still people at Microsoft that haven't learned the Windows RT, 10 S, and S mode, which also didn't let users run what they wanted (at least with S mode you can upgrade to full Windows 10). Why they keep trying to develop a half-baked Chromebook "killer" seems like insanity, when Windows 10 with a little more love and QA attention, so far fewer random bugs (like this months printing bug) are seen. I've had many customers that have grown to dislike Windows 10 due to having been hit with one or more random bugs that wound up costing them money to have fixed.7 points -

Lack of Win32 will make it a failure on day one. We have a track record of pseudo-Windows such as Windows RT and Windows S mode failing because of lack of Win32. Just too many apps are used especially on home workers PCs. Apple had to add Rosetta for m1 macs, Chromebooks had to add Android and Linux support. Microsoft will have to add their compatibility layer too.4 points -

Such a weird attitude. You want others to lose something because you like a version of Windows that has nothing to do with this? Pretty selfish. Like all the comments above you point out, most likely (no "magic 8-ball" here obviously) will be DOA along with the other similar 'half-baked' versions like RT, 10 S, etc. In this case, they are taking away coders/devs from the main product that they 'should' be focusing on, Windows 10. Just read the comments above you, they all make very valid points. QA is very important in Windows 10 [Plain]. This is being affected because the teams are being split on this DOA product.1 point -

We need someone to step up and shake up the hold MS has on the PC OS market. Chrome OS is too basic, Linux varies too wildly to be standardized, and Apple is too busy forcing their hardware down your throat to have access to their OS. If a real competitor stepped up, MS might change their tune.1 point -

Do you mean building a script by recording what you do on the GUI/mouse clicks? Because if so, it does do that as well. It does both. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't let you set a schedule for your scripts/flows. You have to trigger them manually at this time.1 point -

Facebook announces new measures to keep groups safe
fishnet37222 reacted to Sadelwo for a topic
"For users that are already part of said group, content from the group will also de-prioritized so they show up lower in the user's News Feed." Facebook is out of their place. If someone is a member of a group it's because they are interested in what is being said there. Who are they to try and hide posts from a source someone willingly signed up for. Imagine people who are in reading groups not seeing posts because Dr Seuss books are now considered problematic. Muppet and Looney toons fan pages, woosh. We laughed years ago saying this could never happen in the western world, yet here we are. But hey we shouldn't complain, we can see people being provocative on prime time television singing about lubricated lady parts. Progress!1 point -

Intel is rebooting Apple's Mac vs PC ads with the "I'm a Mac" guy
samw61 reacted to MS Bob 11 for a topic
I don't care how accurate the ads are or how desperate Intel are. I just enjoy them and it's nice to see a geeky company making fun of the "lifestyle and fashion" company as Intel's CEO put it. (e.g. Apple are never gonna give us non-soldered SSD in ARM MacBooks now). Intel should focus on such actual strengths of x86 platform. Back in the Vista days, Apple spread quite a lot of FUD with these ads and then after Windows 7 RTM, the I'm a PC ads were out and the rest was history. Apple was begging Microsoft to stop those I'm a PC ads as Windows 7 blew away Mac sales then.1 point -

Please don't mistake trademark with copyright. The trademark laws prevent people from selling products using the "Mac" name but don't stop people from mentioning "Mac" in their videos.
