samw61 and one other reacted to George P for a topic
Some say it's highly competitive, which I suppose it is because of how many OEMs are in it, but the fact it's matured years ago means there's just no room for this many anymore IMO. Others still think it'll somehow start to grow as fast as it used to on the back of 5G or w/e. I don't see it. If anything, after 2020, I see a steady decrease in the number of OEMs in the smartphone market. I really doubt LG is going to be the only big name brand to leave. People are going to keep holding on to their phones longer as time goes on. There's hardly any real reason to upgrade anymore unless you're phone kicks the bucket. Hell, I think most people upgrade because their contracts let them, otherwise if they're like me and buy it unlocked for full price, you're not looking to ditch it in 1-3 years.2 points -

You are right about people holding on to their phones for longer, sure some people still seems to change their phones more times than they change their underwear, but the majority of people I know keeps their phones for 4 years or more, I only changed mine last week because my old one has a fault and that is nearly 4 years old. I would never have a contract phone again, too much money per month and get little out of it, i have a sim only contract , that I can cancel when ever i want. The only LG phone I had was the Nexus 4, which was a thing between Google and LG, it was a good phone.1 point -
Windows freezes randomly

Well that did not solve the issue completely, Windows is still freezing and there is no indication as to why it is doing so, I have run SFC and it reports no errors, all my other drivers are as up to date as I can get them to, and event viewer does not seem to yield any answers either except for a recurring error with NetBT event ID 4311 initialization failed because the driver device could not be created , I have no idea what that is nor if it is the cause of my issues.1 point -

I have to admit, that was my first reaction too, but if you read the linked article you'll see that these new Spotify Mixes, although inspired by Daily mixes, are a set of additional mixes: "Sound familiar? Amazon delivery drivers must agree to hand over biometric data, or lose their job

Sorry but what are you attempting to say me a few post back ?? Seriously, if you are going to argue with me that your "language is just fine" and that I'm the one that "doesn't get it", then this is ongoing hilarity! You made some really weird point that makes very little sense because of how you've made it. If you can't make it properly, then please - do give it a rest! Is it really just that to far above you head to under stand with vehicles stolen this is only going make the problem only become worse if they use biometric and cameras data for all Amazon US delivery driver as he or she may be force at gun point in stead of the criminal just fleeing with vehicle so this theory is kind all ready flawed right from the get go if they add this BS this putting there employees in more danger in long. As for tachograph is no diff then today GPS tracking which all ready in many delivery truck and today USA Big Rig have onboard electronic truck driver log and it rec everything and even put the truck in limp mode if driver is driving many hour just like when buying used car at car lots that has GPS trucking and you butt in to my reply to farmeunit which has nothing to with you, so if don't stand that sorry but that not my problem just get over it. You know, I think you just don’t care enough to make your posts readable. So I just won’t try. Do you enjoy wasting your time posting things people won’t read? You know I don't how many ******* time have I told you I'm deaf and not every one is spelling or grammar master Never once told me, and I'm not a mind reader. So, unfortunately - not my problem. Not missing words and using punctuation doesn't make you a "master" - it's baseline. All dictation software handles punctuation if you wish it to, if you instruct it to. You made a claim that your "language is just fine" and that I'm the one that "doesn't get it" - sorry if you're deaf but presenting this after such a comment is a cop out.1 point -

B&O, like Apple, is one of those established brand names that 'says' quality hardware. It's not really all the time.... There's some decent stuff in their line, but mostly grossly overpriced of what you get. Like Apple, interop is a plus, but still a pricey solution Yeah, but my Apple stuff works. My B&O HP junk was junk. Maybe I'll just put the blame on HP though... HP consumer products are crap. Especially the lower priced stuff. The professional stuff is great, monitors & workstations are pretty good and decent value. But also priced a lot higher1 point -

As I stated in the article, the Linux Mint team only makes changes to the distro very slowly and cautiously. If you're someone that actually wants to be productive, not having to figure out where a feature moved to is great. Exactly. I like Mint's simplicity as it's interface is good enough/simple-to-use and gets straight to the point (and not to mention works well on older hardware to. while I use Cinnamon on my main PC, my older computers have Xfce on them). or to put it another way... I would rather be a bit behind lacking all of the latest and greatest features if that means having a more stable/reliable system in general and with each major Mint release it's supported for 5 years (i.e. Mint v19.x supported til April 2023, Mint v20.x til April 2025 and so on) which is also a definite plus. I think Mint is the best all-around Linux OS (or at least one of the top choices all-around) as I have been using it as my main (and only) OS since Jan 2019. I realize that's not a option for everyone since many probably need Windows specific programs, but for what I do Linux works well enough and what little Windows programs I use (mainly Foobar2000 for music playback/conversion etc), WINE works well with it. even my password manager was a nice easy transition from Windows to Linux since the Windows database works fine on the Linux version.1 point -

ThaCrip reacted to Closed account for a topic
I completely agree (to state the obvious). even $100 or so is already really pushing it for headphones as I figure for the common person, around $50-ish tops is more realistic (but 'maybe' as much as $100 or so). but at $500 that's a massive inefficient use of $ in general. hell, I figure even with someone who's got plenty of $, even then I can't see more than $200-300 MAX. because after a certain point it's just flat out wasted $ because I am sure one can get quality headphones for a fraction of that $500 that are roughly just as good, or at least not enough of a difference to justify paying hundreds of $ more. but I suspect a lot of high $ audio equipment (like after a certain price point) comes back to people 'thinking' there is a difference more than them actually hearing a difference. even if there is a difference, it's probably so small, it's no where near enough of a difference to justify the major price differences. Money and value are rather subjective. It's all down to economics and priorities. I'm using my headphones for several hours every single day. Paying $500 dollars for something I enjoy using, that feels comfortable and provides me with the features and the quality I want doesn't feel like a waste to me at all. Then again I'm a person that tends to use these things way more than the average person and as both I and my wife have secure jobs with above-average income it makes it easier for us to spend some extra money on areas where we feel like it might enhance our daily lives. wife's a doctor i'm a law student, chances are our income is higher i still ain't spending 500 on headphones. diminishing returns brah1 point -

Oh another bug I would love for them to fix, is when you have a network drive mapped at a low drive letter such as D but you plug in a USB flash drive or USB hard drive and windows also maps the removable device as D. Windows should be smart enough to know D is already taken by a mapped drive. People have made excuses for Microsoft saying "You shouldn't give a mapped network drive a drive letter so low such as D. That's ######, windows should be smart enough to see D is already taken.1 point -

Well, if you run Windows, you have Edge by default and "can't" remove it.
