Honestly, since when has performance been a concern on your phone? We've reached a point that 90% of your day-to-day apps all perform basically identically. I'd much rather have a phone that lasts 4-5 years with security updates than a phone that's fastest-in-class for about a year, then loses security updates a year after that.4 points -

The plural of sheep, is sheep...I digress, do you know anyone who actually had pretty bad covid? The hospital wards overflowing with patients wasn`t enough to show you how serious this virus was! If it had been left to it`s own devices pretty much every country would have quickly ran out of ICU beds... There are a number of countries and states that never enacted considerable covid restrictions or have since removed restrictions such as lockdowns, mask mandates, curfews, shutting down businesses, etc. (more common now) and didn't have a significant amount Excess Deaths Associated with COVID-19 that other locations with restrictions have claimed to have had. Over the past year there has been enough evidence being published to support the removal of covid restrictions because the risk is far lower than it appears. Perhaps you watch too much fear mongering news and don't read enough into what's actually happening. Perhaps I actually have first hand knowledge of how this virus can affect people, and I`m not just talking about death! You believe whatever you want, just don`t come saying I`ve been swayed by "fearmongering" or not kept abreast of what`s been happening. Seen many x-ray/CT images of people lungs with covid/post covid? It`s not just about stoping people from dying, it`s about long term health as well... People have the choice to take precautions and to reduce exposure and now more people are having the choice to not take those precautions and resections (freedom and rights?). If people want to wear 2 masks, get a vaccine that wears off in x months time and still doesn't prevent people from getting covid and spreading it then that is their choice. I know older and obese people have a higher risk, so they should have the choice to stay home, etc.. I know many people (including myself) who've had covid and recovered and they should also have the same choices to stay home or to go out and not wear a mask, etc. BTW there are many examples of the news "fearmongering" such as saying hospital wards were overflowing with patients when most were filming the dancing nurse videos or were just over exaggerating. Ignorance at its finest. It’s not over exaggerating, I am talking firsthand with nurses who see the hospitals overflowing. Oh the irony... That's Ignorance for only considering your opinion and those experiences. 1. "fearmongering" is part of the problem because too many people went to the hospital because they were scared of dying, even though they really didn't need to be there and the hospitals eventually told them to go home. That has caused moments of unnecessary stress and disruptions in the hospitals. 2. California ICU’s run at 87% full every year regardless. 3. Toronto (aka Ontario's hot spot) Went into lockdown because the fear of overwhelming ICU capacity. In reality the ICU occupancy is 80%, same as the Provincial Occupancy Rate and 10% below the stated goal of <90%! 4. There are many other examples such as the USNS Comfort ship with 1,000 beds located in NYC that sat nearly empty, but was brought in that the fear that covid was "overwhelming the hospitals". It’s not ignorance at all. No, I am going with things I can verify, not some random Internet guy. So stop wasting your breath, you are talking about things you read, not know. Just another conspiracy spreader. It astounding how ignorant you are and how you're still in denial of the ignorance! Even arrogant enough to call others of what you are. I need the meme that says "You Keep Using That Word, I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means". I enjoy researching and learning, at this point calling me a conspiracy theorists is a compliment. All this has proven is that you don't care about facts and when they are presented to you then you think it must be a conspiracy or you rather be spoon feed from the TV or someone you know, rather than trying to figure it out. If you aren't able to lookup that information and understand what it means then I simply can't help you. sorry. Facts? You haven’t presented a single one. I can see what’s going on with my own eyes. You should try it yourself instead of living in your conspiracy theories.3 points -

It felt to me like an old superhero movie from the 90s (not in the way they wanted it to be visually set in the 80s). What I mean by that is that it felt poorly thought out, terrible script, plot-points outta nowhere, campy scenes, abysmal CGI - just a reason to license a franchise. Everything that WAS wrong with such films and I thought we had moved away from. And this is the problem with the DC movies - they are utterly inconsistent. Dark tone / silly tone / campy tone / heavyweight tone - all over the place; I get that Marvel switch their movie styles up, but there's an overall agenda that seems missing from DC.2 points -

I hate to burst your bubble, but understanding information is the difficult part, and I suspect you have taken a few wonky turns when fitting it into your worldview. Everyone does it, no one understands everything, and nor should they. That's why experts study this stuff for 10+ years. That's why research is conducted in the way that it is, peer reviewed by other researchers and reproduced. People do not need to have done their own research in most cases. I do not need to study optometry to believe my optometrist. I don't need to have a degree in engineering to trust that my office building will stay intact. Same thing applies, I do not need to have "done research" to understand the health implications of a fast spreading respiratory virus. I do not need to have spent 15 years studying aspects of the climate to trust that their warnings of climate change are true. Individually we are all idiots. Collectively we do well. This recent trend of individualism that seems to have taken over the US may be the death of the "United" States.2 points -

The media usually only mentions the covid cases now because the deaths have been so low Completely false. How is this thought even still circulating the internet in 2021. This was disproven months and months ago. Patients have gone to the hospital with all kinds of ailments but tested positive on admission then counted as a covid admission. Then died of anything within 28 days of positive test. The only thing false surrounding that statement is the ammount of covid deaths that the news reports. "The number of deaths certified as being from Covid alone, without any other co-existing conditions on the certificate was 113 in the UK. That is 0.0062% of the total population." But that's like saying people die of HIV, when it's usually something else isn't it? Because doesn't HIV just make it difficult for your body to respond to other illnesses? But they're still written down as HIV aren't they? Nobody seems to care about that. What a thread! This makes me so grateful my country locked down and respected the rules to the point that the state I live in (of 6.6mil) has not had a single case for over a month. While some of last year truly sucked and was devastating for individuals and businesses, most the country has been relatively free and open since mid last year, with the economy bouncing back so quickly. Relatively normal Christmas, relatively normal holiday period, relatively normal Easter break. It's also not just about the deaths as was mentioned. The long term effects have been devastating for many, and are not necessarily known still. it is comforting to be assured by the news that the last year of covid restrictions and compliance wasn't a huge waste of time. But I hate to burst your bubble but I have numerous sources that detail the ineffectiveness of masks, lockdowns, social distancing, etc. which is part of the reason why they keep changing the restrictions. I'll ask you this: Why are things in many locations going back to normal (removal of covid restrictions) such as removal of lockdowns, of mask mandates, being permitted to travel, etc. while there is still a significant amount of cases and while most countries have low vaccination rates (most under 30%) when the goal was to reach herd immunity of ~90% and then remove the restrictions? Doesn't that sound counter productive and could cause a large wave of new infections? I would link to several comparisons showing that lockdowns, etc. are in fact ineffective, but I can't post links here. ctrl-c, ctrl-v. Posting links isn’t hard. The only reason you would be restricted is if the moderators saw you for what you are.2 points -

Any intelligent reasoning behind this? That's promoting an ideology that is not necessary, is usually done for the wrong reasons, and is potentially harmful to others. I find it obnoxious that some represent themselves like this to feel proud, and to reaffirm their values and their self-concept as a good citizen. It's quite unnecessary but its a way to win social acceptance. Reminds me of those people who volunteer just to post pictures on social media of them helping others, they can't see through their own bs. No, it's not. Until Samsung sort themselves out and make Exynos a proper rival they'll always be slower and more power hungry Well Exynos 2100 almost matches Snapdragon 888 in CPU performance without the throttling and high temperatures of Qualcomm's flagship. It's a little behind in GPU performance but Samsung's collaboration with AMD to have Radeon graphics in Exynos SoCs should fix that this year. Regardless, if a phone with Exynos 2100 is cheaper than Snapdragon 888, I'd go for that today if I was looking to buy a new phone.1 point -

CDC even said the rate is probably drastically lower with maybe 3x as many cases in the USA at least that aren't counted... not saying this still isn't bad and serious but mortality rate per confirmed cases is kinda meh... I know in my house at least only 2 out of us were confirmed, the others didn't even get tested and they know they had it too just from the symptoms... and where there is one there is many more in the same situation.. and we don't even know how many had it before testing ramped up...1 point -

Brazil has had little to no restrictions since the pandemic began and they now have 3000+ deaths per day right: https://www.nytimes.com/intera...azil-coronavirus-cases.html1 point -

I don't think this is going to go over well and the reason is quite simple...people are stupid... and over the course of the last year or so this it quite clear in actions and news stories. Facebook won't even contain the misinformation that is all over its own pages on blatant falsehoods of any Covid Vax. I would venture a guess that there is a portion of the US population that is so Antivaxx they would use this info as a possible list to hurt people whom got the Covid Vax1 point -

You are right about people holding on to their phones for longer, sure some people still seems to change their phones more times than they change their underwear, but the majority of people I know keeps their phones for 4 years or more, I only changed mine last week because my old one has a fault and that is nearly 4 years old. I would never have a contract phone again, too much money per month and get little out of it, i have a sim only contract , that I can cancel when ever i want. The only LG phone I had was the Nexus 4, which was a thing between Google and LG, it was a good phone.1 point -
Xiaomi debuts the Mi Mix Fold, its first foldable phone with a massive 8.01-inch display

while I agree no bezels is preferable, samsung and xiaomi could take note of the duos thinness at nearly half the size and almost 100g lighter. Fundamentally 2 years later I still think the Mate X has the best foldable design to date. Samsung's and Xiaomi's foldable just isn't effective, to get around the challenges of basically slapping 2 phones together, you need a third screen., more cameras, need bigger battery just to handle all the duplicated components (3 screens) and of course it makes the cost of such devices extraordinarily high. The Mate X was high priced too but thats for different reasons.1 point -

Finally got around to watching Tenet. Really enjoyed it. Sure it has it's flaws, but I wasn't out looking for them, so they didn't make me wanna rage post against Nolan1 point
