Oh, I see you're familiar with Mozilla's MO. They always do this dumb crap. First give you control in about:config and then just remove it when it'll actually matter the most. Of course they don't add official setting for it in Settings page either. I was quite shocked when they actually added "Show Other Bookmarks" setting to bookmarks bar. The rest got so bad I had to write Firefox Tweaker tool so I can change bunch of settings in one click that would otherwise take me half an hour to adjust all manually through about:config (just because they removed ability to bookmark about:config entries). So annoying.4 points -

OneDrive sync client gets 64-bit support on Windows
matthiew and one other reacted to +Biscuits Brown for a topic
When you say "technically, AMD64", you are saying this build only works on AMD CPUs. But AMD64 is metonymically (as opposed to technically) used to refer to x64. x64 itself is a moniker for both Intel 64 and AMD64. It means when we say x64 we mean AMD64. Intel licenses the 64 bit architecture from AMD. All 64 bit implementation (Intel OR AMD) uses AMD64.2 points -

I really don't understand why they insist on constantly making pointless UI changes, especially ones that nobody asked for or like. If they want to do this crap, put it into a theme or something, don't force it on all the users who are happy with the way their browser looks/works already.2 points -

Who wants to bet this option will disappear once Proton reaches productive branch? Mozilla is notorious in doing this crap. "Users on Reddit have begun complaining about the Proton tab experience as they're upset that it uses up too much space and that there are no visual separators between tabs." Don't worry, mozilla's team will close any requests to revert it, they'll then remove the option to disable it and when people ask why can't the option be added back to revert it, will tell them that they are wrong and their opinion is invalid. Like with every other forced UI change by mozilla in the past few years.1 point -
Surface Laptop 4 reportedly coming April 27, specs and price leaked

If the 15" AMD went up to 32GB, I'd really be considering it. I desperately need to replace my aged Surface Book, but have no idea what to get. Was deciding between XPS 15 and waiting for a Surface Laptop 4, but it's definitely underwhelming. I've upgraded to Surface Book 3 with 32 GB RAM from my previous Surface Book 2. I decided against Dell XPS because of its 16:9 screen and haven't considered Surface Laptop at all because it lacks Nvidia graphics and 32 GB of RAM.1 point -

Windows XP x64 was released in 20051 point -

Regrettably, all those millennials being paid big bucks by Microsoft need to justify their positions, hence what was working well cannot be left alone but has to be "improved." Flash and sizzle have been trumping substance for many years. You contradict yourself... first you blame millennials and then say it's been going on for "many years". MS had some pretty big whoppers in the 90s, I guess that was my generations fault too lol.1 point -

It cannot be more clear that MS employees had zero vision about the direction of Windows. It’s now since a year or so that they are getting senses knocked into them. I never used 3D Paint and 3D builder even if was shoved on my face. I removed both those stubborn apps with powershell scripts. I even used reg tweak to delete that 3D Builder File explorer pane entry. The employee who predicted this 3D nonsense into Windows must have long left the company already. LMAO.1 point -
New Surface Pro 7 ad targets the iPad Pro's heavy keyboard
matthiew reacted to Brony for a topic
No pro-create, un-optimized touch apps, lack luster (jittery) pen input, etc... Procreate is the best application for drawing in the IOS. I really like it. However, it is inferior to its desktop counterpart. Which one? all of them. Procreate is cool for sketching but it is not aimed at the pro-market such as Wacom, Huion and alike. The Surface Pro still suffers from jittery and it is a big issue. Lol, there are lot of professionals who use iPad 12' with procreate to do professional drawing work, if you are not skilled enough in procreate that's on you. Yes, they also eat chocolate, drive cars and such but they don't work eating chocolate, or in this case, using an ipad. https://community.wacom.com/eu...1/mike_thompson-768x480.jpg A professional artist (i.e. not YouTubers wannabes) don't use it in their daily work. They could use an Ipad for amusement and leisure but in their spare time. i.e: You can't land a job only knowing Procreate. You shouldn't be fooled by the marketing 🤷♂️ In this case, Procreate has around 30-40 special functionalities. Krita (free) has around 200, more layers than Procreate, more resolution than procreate, more brushes than procreate (Procreate allows the installation of new brushes but with some limits) and such. About layers, Procreate does not have a vector layer, in fact, the support of layers is meh at best. of course, Krita is not for professionals such as Adobe or the Corel suite, it is a free application and it is still way better than Procreate.1 point -

Neither of those companies have a whole lot of market penetration outside of China especially Huawei in the last year or so. They do everywhere apart from North America. Xiaomi phones are very popular in Europe and Oppo is slowly climbing.1 point -

Covid was literally the number 3 cause of death in the US last year. Stop being ridiculous. That is ridiculous... if you did research during that time you would know that "Died of covid" and "died with covid" were often used interchangeably. There are many cases that hit the news of people who were hit by a car or shot and so on and still considered covid related as the cause of death. That's one of the practices that has changed which significantly decreased the death rate figures from a year ago. The media usually only mentions the covid cases now because the deaths have been so low Completely false. How is this thought even still circulating the internet in 2021. This was disproven months and months ago. Patients have gone to the hospital with all kinds of ailments but tested positive on admission then counted as a covid admission. Then died of anything within 28 days of positive test. The only thing false surrounding that statement is the ammount of covid deaths that the news reports. "The number of deaths certified as being from Covid alone, without any other co-existing conditions on the certificate was 113 in the UK. That is 0.0062% of the total population." But that's like saying people die of HIV, when it's usually something else isn't it? Because doesn't HIV just make it difficult for your body to respond to other illnesses? But they're still written down as HIV aren't they? Nobody seems to care about that. What a thread! This makes me so grateful my country locked down and respected the rules to the point that the state I live in (of 6.6mil) has not had a single case for over a month. While some of last year truly sucked and was devastating for individuals and businesses, most the country has been relatively free and open since mid last year, with the economy bouncing back so quickly. Relatively normal Christmas, relatively normal holiday period, relatively normal Easter break. It's also not just about the deaths as was mentioned. The long term effects have been devastating for many, and are not necessarily known still.1 point -

Honestly, since when has performance been a concern on your phone? We've reached a point that 90% of your day-to-day apps all perform basically identically. I'd much rather have a phone that lasts 4-5 years with security updates than a phone that's fastest-in-class for about a year, then loses security updates a year after that. If you are paying flagship prices, you are interested in that 10%.1 point -
