Jaxkesa reacted to Louisifer for a topic
Sure if you go to another country then fine, but should not need it in my own country. But then I have refused to have the vaccine. You have the right to not get the vaccine and the private business also has the right to deny entry. if you wait long enough, the requirement of the vaccine will pass and then you will be allowed to join in with the rest of us. As for voter ID, just buy a passport, you need it to leave the country anyway and its valid ID even when expired as long as its an adult passport. I used it for the last vote we had when ID's were required, a lady looked at the picture, my face and my name and gave it back along with my voting slips. It's nothing to be scared of.1 point -

Now Intel, this is looking good. I'm not buying the graphs until Youtubers analyze them. But considering this is a 10nm processor (similar to TSMC's 7nm fab), this is more convincing than the Rocket Lake fallacy. I want to see thermals and throttling, which have been the main issues with H series processors for a long time.1 point -

Looking at Brendan Lewis build progress sheet then there is no 18 and 19 even in production so it looks like they're already skipping those. 16 is almost done so it makes sense to carry on with that one and I suspect they're far enough through 17 to warrant that one going too. 20 I believe Elon was hoping to be doing the orbital flights with so that's a completely different so shouldn't really be considered as part of the this phase. Looking at it, I'm not even sure they have time to re-fly 15 as it takes 1-2 weeks minimum to get starship down to the pad, cryo tested, raptors installed, static fire and then launched. I guess it will depend on how close BN3 and the launch tower is by July.1 point -

It's a slightly better PS4 Pro. I really don't get the kerfuffle. I saw the trailers, and aside from the neat things the SSD can do, it didn't impress me much. I'll calmly wait. Even if it becomes readily available I'll still wait longer. It just has no games worth caring about.1 point -

im 37. My interest in gaming has decreased over the years. These days i'm looking for more casual, simple games. These hardcore games are so utterly involved these days that i just dont have the time or interest. I've actually started collecting older games on last-gen systems rather than hunting for new games. I have a backlog of Xbox/360/PS3 games that i want to play. I also collect retro games. I miss the days or just popping in a game and playing.1 point -

Untick You would get an immediate stroke if you saw my desktop with those hundreds of icons There is a meme floating on the internet about this: there are 2 type of people... Trying to explain verbally: shows 2 picture next to each other: 1st desktop with no shortcut icons, only some pleasant nice background. The other picture: shows some background wallpaper, but hardly anything could be seen of it, as in the foreground there are gazillion of excel, word, ppt and text shortcut icons with filenames like xyz FINAL.xlsx, xyz FINAL_V2.xlsx and so on1 point -

SpaceX, ULA, Blue Origin, Arianespace, Russia, most all the majors, are moving to methane. This is being done because it's cleaner burning, efficient, and delivers a pretty good punch. Mechane is a C1 simple hydrocarbon, 1 carbon atom per molecule. Combustion product: CO2 and water. RP-1 (rocket grade kerosene) is a C10 - C16 complex hydrocarbon which produces a chemical factory's worth of pollutants. Solid rocket fuels, like the Shuttle, Ariane, Indian & SLS boosters , also produce noxious compounds along with hydrochloric acid vapors and unburned chlorates. Many Chinese rockets burn toxic hypergolics like nitrogen tetroxide and monomethyl hydrazine. Yuk. Starship, During pre-launch activities there is little to no methane release; methane tank vapors are collected and sent back to the tank farm where a recondenser re-liquifies it for later use. Their use of methane extracted from natural gas is a temporary practice. As it is now, SpaceX is buying methane from a local supplier but they've acquired a natural gas well near the build site. They will be purifying to methane and liquifying it for launches at the well site. Also going in near the well site is an oxygen condenser for making their own liquid oxygen. Future methane for Starship launches will be "green," made from CO2 extracted from the atmosphere. A good thing, yes? This tech would serve double duty; producing launch fuel on Earth, and producing return fuel on Mars (which has a CO2 atmosphere) or wherever. SpaceX's baseline CO2 --> CH4 chemistry is the well known Sabatier reaction, invented in 1897. On Earth it'd be powered by wind and solar. The Musk Foundation is also funding a $100 million Carbon Removal X-Prize to evaluate other carbon capture processes, which could also be used to make methane. https://www.xprize.org/prizes/elonmusk1 point -
