The government is staking a claim over the private sector and use of company assets for their purposes? Yikes. I'm not sure how officials can be deplatformed when they have official government platforms on government sites ex. http://florida.gov and https://www.flgov.com/ and individually they have campaign sites ex. https://rondesantis.com/ Really this us just claiming someone else's property. It's authoritarian.11 points -

Treating everyone equally is not communist. Banning speech by one party in favor of another is. Learn what communism means. The action isn't all that matters. The actor matters too. Republicans love private business and deregulation until the private businesses do something the politicians don't like. That's a textbook example of government overreach and retaliation.10 points -

Treating everyone equally is not communist. Banning speech by one party in favor of another is. it's funny how the republicans are so communistic lately. you have to learn english. you have to swear allegiance to the flag. you have to get a real id. Perhaps educate yourself on the topic of communism... There are numerous things that are government regulated, and just because you don't agree with some of them doesn't mean it's communism. Protecting free speech for the people is not even on the same realm of communism. Don't let your political blinders get in the way of the facts. I have to say I'm amazed at the gall of Republicans to claim they're protecting free speech by actively violating it. Imagine that. Forcing private companies to allow someone a platform is compelled speech and it's a violation of that private company's free speech rights. Republicans insisted that corporations are people. Now reap what you sowed.3 points -

This isn't going to hold up in court due to legal precedent. Back in 1913, Florida introduced a law that forced newspapers to carry commentary from a political candidate, free of charge, if that candidate had been criticized by the newspaper. The so-called "right to reply" law. There was an election in 1974, and this exact situation came up. The Miami Herald refused to carry comments from a candidate. This ended up in the US Supreme Court where the law was struck down as being unconstitutional. Unanimous decision. (418 U.S. 241) This is pretty much the same thing, all over again -- governments forcing companies to carry speech of politicians. It will end the same way... Section 230 or no, the basic premise of what the legal definition of "free speech" is in the United States hasn't changed in the last 50 years.3 points -

Treating everyone equally is not communist. Banning speech by one party in favor of another is. That's not what's happening. If the person didn't post hateful and incendiary remarks, they'd probably still be on the platform. Trump literally organized an insurrection that resulted in multiple deaths on a social media platform. It wasn't about his political views. You guys have the fake victim card down pat. People don't get banned for being republicans. They get banned for being ######. There's a difference.2 points -

MS is adding too many unwanted features to Win10 which may not be useful to a large user base. It is better they use their resource wisely than aggressively adding unproductive features which may not serve the real purpose. And after a couple of years, based on feature usage telemetry they will remove the same and by that time some users may be so used to that feature on daily basis. Nowadays first thing first I look for the option "how to turn off the feature x" when a new update comes. If they really want to enhance the taskbar then provide the option to resize the search box. Reduce the default size of the search box by 50%. Most users either opt for search icon or they turn them off (which defeat the purpose of search feature). And those who keep the search box ON end up wasting too much taskbar space. In short, the MS WIN feature design team is not applying basic common sense!2 points -

Hello Nick, I tested this for you in the latest 21364 Dev Windows Insider build which contains the latest version of News & Interests, and with my browser default set to Chrome, any link I clicked on in the News & Interest opened Edge (with the notice "Would you like to set Microsoft Edge as your default browser?") After installing EdgeDeflector https://github.com/da2x/EdgeDeflector/releases and rebooting, the first time I clicked on any link in the News & Interest panel, I was prompted which program I wanted to use to open the link, I was able to choose EdgeDeflector, which honors the default web browser (in my case Chrome) btw EdgeDeflector also 'fixes' a bunch of other link redirects to Edge from within Windows, such as help links and links from installed apps by redirecting to the default browser. Hope this answers your question!2 points -
