  1. I am pretty sure its wrong and even if it was a lab leak, I doubt it was a man-made virus. Most probably they were studying it and someone got the virus. That person then transferred the virus outside the lab and it spread out. But I know conspiracy theorist will have a field day. How can you be so naïve? CCP loves you already. Viruses just don’t randomly infect people that easily in a lab unless manipulated with “Gain of Function”. I am not saying they created it with the intention of unleashing on the world but it was created for purposes best known to them. Cure cancer/HIV or even as Bio warfare. That no one will know. The fact you're invoking the spectre of the Communist Party of China (CPC, btw) proves you have political reasons behind your reasoning to pin this on a lab, rather than a desire to find out the truth of the matter.

It was because Trump was trying to run with that theory, and we all know what social media's stance was regarding him... It wasn't that he was running with that theory that was the problem, it was the way he did it. Calling it the China Virus, accusing them of releasing it intentionally and stirring up anti-Asian sentiment leading to violence against them from his followers.

How about also educating the bicyclist? I am not anti-bike and do cycle myself (and do have a car) but so many dangerous bicyclists on the road in the last couple of years with the increase in biking. I have seen so much ######... Bikers running red lights in really busy intersections and a lot of them will ignore all traffic signs and stops on city streets. One time I was going down a one way side street and there was an actual bike path on the right. There was biker going down the other side of the street. My point is sure there is a lot of bad automobile drivers but it goes both ways.

  9. Power of attorney

When you have a POA, you are taking over all of the decision making of your mom. Where I am, to have a POA, you need to be the next-of-kin (you are) and in most places, you need a physician to deem your mother "Without Capacity". This means that your mother is incompetent to make decisions. You then speak on her behalf. Additionally, you need a durable Medical POA to speak for medical treatment of her. A living will is an important part of that. Personally, I would not want "lifesaving measures" put on a woman of 92 with dementia. When the time comes, comfort care and hospice are much more peaceful than being in the ICU hooked up to machines.

Our education system has failed us. Nobody can think for themselves and has to get their talking points from cable tabloid segments.

  11. The WHO escalated their message according to the evidence presented. You can read through the timeline here: https://www.who.int/news/item/29-06-2020-covidtimeline" rel="external nofollow">https://www.who.int/news/item/29-06-2020-covidtimeline WHO categorically protected china from being accused of spreading the virus and also played part in nomenclature politics and abolished its old age practice of calling virus names from place of origin. WHO was kept in dark about this virus by china as china knew about the virus way before the news came into the public. Still WHO didn't even take any serious note about it as many people can spread the virus in meantime considering a number of institutions there educates foreign nationals. WHO has faulted multiple times handling this thing. I'm not saying that the WHO are a perfect organization. I know people in the WHO who admit to the faults that it has. I'm just saying that their message of precautions to take was escalated according to evidence. You don't turn the dial up to 11 every time an infection comes around, you react to research, studies and evidence. As for not calling the virus after the place of origin, personally I think it's for the best, but also it's a change that didn't start with Coronavirus. They have a paper from 2015 that lists the best practices for naming viruses: https://www.who.int/publications/i/item/WHO-HSE-FOS-15.1

An app, a webpage, another app, a program, something from 1997 office, outlook express? At this point, with Microsoft's silly branding I don't even care anymore.

I got the Mederma one, and I did it because I work around kids and felt that I should do my part to protect them and myself. On the first dose I only had minor side effect (asthma acting up) but the second dose put me down for the count and I ended up missing half of a day of work, and slept.

so it's only a conspiracy theory until biden wants to investigate it? come on facebook.... There are hundreds of corona viruses https://www.niaid.nih.gov/diseases-conditions/coronaviruses I believe the only man-made factor in this is someone who was careless with the study of it, or it actually did spread from bat to human like the hundreds of other cases that have happened between animals and humans. Viruses evolve much like any other life on this planet, they actually evolve to make it harder to prevent them.

I think there are a few reasons why it matters. First, the truth would put a stop to a lot of conspiracy theories. Most importantly, it would give an opportunity for lessons to be learned so that this doesn't happen again. Personally, I don't care where it originated from. I did not enjoy that the pandemic was used as a political weapon, and I want to see the world get passed it and never go through it again.

Yes it was a co-incidence according to WHO. The virus first emerged in Wuhan was also a co-incidence. China blocking Wuhan lab access to WHO investigators was also a co-incidence.

  24. A lot of people are confusing the idea of "escaped from a lab" and "man made". It is possible, through some gain-of-function research, that a coronavirus was being modified and it escaped due to an accident. That would be a man-made virus that leaked. Ignoring the accident, this type of research was documented and published by the presumed leak location. It is also possible that while studying a coronavirus, that it escaped, without any man-made modifications. And it is still also possible that an unmodified coronavirus was intentionally released (man-made or not). And it is finally still possible that it really was just bad luck and the virus jumped from a bat in a wet market. All four hold some merit especially in light of the origin and the original discrediting of it really only served to help the country of origin. Separately, the fact that this was as a conspiracy theory a year ago, triggering account bans and censorship, and is now returning is exactly why entrusting social media companies with this type of information control is absolutely crazy. They did not know the truth then, and they do not know the truth now and the same is inherently true for all of the things that they have taken it upon themselves to peddle. It makes me extremely happy to not have social media accounts and more people need to get off these platforms to bring back control and rational conversations.

"With Android 12 already on the horizon, what might be a bit more concerning to some is that the Surface Duo is still running Android 10, despite releasing near the launch date of Android 11 last year." 42. Except that this is PRECISELY how 99% of diseases make the NATURAL jump from animals to people (and even back again). from https://www.npr.org/2021/05/27...be-investigated-expert-says "On why natural transmission from animals to humans is still the dominant theory for the origins of COVID-19" "This is really 99% of the time the source of emerging infectious diseases, whether you talk about HIV or Zika or Ebola, the original SARS, MERS. I mean, you keep going and going. But all of these have been the result of zoonotic spillovers — so, spillover of viruses from animals into humans. And this is what we've seen with the prior coronaviruses so probabilistically, it's far more likely that this would be a spillover event as well." So, what you have said is just rightwing conspiracy nonsense drivel. The experts have now told you otherwise. Stop peddling the crapola. The lengths some people will go being CCP apologists baffles me. Such people are Left Ultras who clearly know their motives and what they are talking about!

  44. I'm one of the few in my office that use the calendar excessively and I look forward to this update.. But claiming it's the biggest change since 1997 is a bit steep! For most users, it will just appear as Outlook performing the way you'd expect it to (the fact we're used it being slow is not a great endorsement). It might be the biggest change to the back end, and how Outlook operates, but that's not what users really worry about. It might impact system administrators to some extent, but then again, it sounds like something that should have been in play at least 10 years ago.

  49. You can manually enable the improvements by going to control panel - Mail - Email Accounts - select email account - More settings - Advanced Tab - Check "Turn On Shared Calendar Improvements (Preview)" I wish they would improve the speed/performance of Outlook in 0365 when not caching mail. Opening emails is instantaneous using office.com, but there is this annoying delay when opening in the Outlook client.
