Facebook is filled, and I mean, really filled with scammers, shady people and what-not, also people that called the mobs across the state (MLB, anti-Trump, etc.). Facebook, if you want to ban Trump then fine, but you can't claim that you are doing it for justice where you are allowing the other party do to exactly the same. IMHO, I am more worried about scammers and less about politics, and IMHO, companies should stay away from politics.7 points -

Should Fauci be banned too using the same criteria? You guys don't understand how science works, do you? Scientists aren't God. They don't know everything exactly from the start. It works on trial and error. Further, most of what Dr. Fauci said has actually stayed consistent. I'm not sure why you hate him so much other than being told to do so by a politician. I happen to understand science very well, but I'm sure you know better. I never said I hated Fauci either. He spread as much or more misinformation as you claim Trump did. Some of it was admitted by him to be on purpose too. A lot of what was labeled crazy conspiracy is actually starting to look like there is some truth to it now. Anybody that questions anything is labeled a nut and banned. Wait until it is something that you say that Facebook decides that you shouldn't say!6 points -

The day that Windows becomes subscription-ware is the day I will replace my PC with a Mac, or move to Linux on the desktop. And I work as a senior infrastructure consultant primarily on Microsoft on-premises technologies and Azure, as well as security. I will not, no matter what, pay recurring subscription fees to run an operating system! Even if my employer will cover it. It's a matter of principle.6 points -

You are talking about the WHO (aka there is nothing to worry about) or about Fauci (aka, China is not guilty)? If you are wondering, then at the beginner of the pandemic, doctors must deal with this new virus with no means to treat it, the respirators weren't a cure. The use of hydrochlorothiazide was one (of many) treatments against the coronavirus, they also used plasma. The use of hydrochlorothiazide reduced the number of deaths but it is not perfect. Now about the current vaccines, they are not perfect either but the goal is that it is better than nothing, the same as with the hydrochlorothiazide.4 points -

Anybody that questions anything is labeled a nut and banned. Wait until it is something that you say that Facebook decides that you shouldn't say! You got a source for, "He spread as much or more misinformation as you claim Trump did." and "Some of it was admitted by him to be on purpose too."? Quit with the sources.. This is a stupid internet forum. He said initially masks don't need to be worn to stop people from buying them, so health care workers could get N95 masks. WHen asked later about it later he admitted that was the reason. There are also lots of emails coming out now that show homemade masks were worthless and they wanted us to wear them anyway. Don't question any of this or you are denying science though! Source are needed when people like you spread misinformation as fact. You might want to read, https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/n...kers-had-enough/ar-BB15A4kO Also, it was the surgeon general (federal government) that said “Seriously people- STOP BUYING MASKS! They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching coronavirus, but if healthcare providers can’t get them to care for sick patients, it puts them and our communities at risk!” back on 2/29/20 not Fucci. You were right that he admitted it was so that health workers could get N95 masks but he's not the one that said stop by masks. Explaining why the guidance on masks had evolved, Fauci also argued that health officials in February did not know that cloth coverings could be as effective at inhibiting the virus as medical masks. “We also know that simple cloth coverings that many people have can work as well as a mask in many cases,” he added. “So even though there appears to be some contradiction of ‘You were saying this then, why are you saying this now,’ actually, the circumstances have changed, that’s the reason why. Again, science learns and then make the appropriate changes/recommendations when new information is found.3 points -

If the risks are people not longer overtly sexually assaulting women, insinuating riots, subverting authority, committing treason and undermining the entire democratic process.... Whatever will we do? Your age doesn't grant you immunity to consequence or stupidity. You haven't evaluated the situation in the entirety (that it warrants) and are instead spouting condescending ego-driven drivel. Much like every entitled old person before you that voluntarily pandered to every unnecessary indulgence at the cost of your children and children's children. If I were you I wouldn't openly admit to such atrocities by admitting to your age, and even more so in the same context of a human who was solely responsible for the near collapse of a democratic empire. If any of what I says bothers you then please disconnect from the internet, it's not for you. Think before you post.3 points -

Vimeo improves page load times with support for AVIF images
Malisk and one other reacted to random_n for a topic
JPEGXL actually looks really good, and is right around the corner at this point. Lossless transcoding from JPEG, progressive decoding for partial display prior to having the whole file, and roughly as CPU efficient to encode and decode as classic JPEG. AVIF is reusing the AV1 video codec for still images. Efficient in bandwidth, but costly in compute. AV1 hardware acceleration isn't geared towards handling a bunch of small files either, so this will be CPU-only decoding. To me, this seems doomed to be a transient specialty format forgotten in a few years with JPEGXL inbound, Apple pushing use of HEIC, and regular old JPEG still being plenty good enough for most uses. At least it'll be easier to get a decoder for than HEIC without the MPEG LA peeing in the license pool. What a miserable format that is.2 points -
