I don't know what else to call this other than a witch hunt at this point, and it's getting ridiculous. I can't believe the world is starting to treat such a great company this way just because they're housed in China and they're afraid they "might" start putting in back doors at some point without anything to back up those fears .... like the US is any better ... /s Seriously, I think Trump is/was just afraid they're becoming so popular so decided to squish them like the greedy man he is... /end rant

Thanks for telling us about something you're not bothered about. There's a Match on this weekend, but I'm not bothering to watch it...

I don't think Huawei is being given even a fair trial with all these decisions before anything is proven. US multinationals have done plenty of immoral and questionable things yet they are protected because they are American.

That means it's defective and you should return or RMA swap it. Why post something like that without doing so first? You obviously have a defective drive.

This is not a great company. It is not even a good company. It is simply a massive company. It's a company afforded enormous luxuries due to the scale of the nation it lives in preferring single, internal sources, and it is a company that consistently breaks the law in the name of competition, and in the name of just making money. https://www.forbes.com/sites/a...s-dangerous-high-tech-game/ Ignore the 5G spying discussion, this company spies on everyone for its own benefit (ignore the parent country argument!) and it has had disastrous impacts on every industry that it "competes" in. It is easy to be successful when you get to leverage the internal R&D of your competitors. Imagine any other business getting away with that behavior on a regular basis while being defended by legions of online commentators because of unrelated politics.

Yes, because putting out a flashy new icon will make all the difference in the actual functionality of the product. Sheesh, the fluff.

You are kind of furthering the argument here. All companies are beholden to the state's intelligence requests in China. China 'could' cease all business with US. In the US, companies would sue the government because without a just cause (national emergency) the government doesn't have that kind of power.

I honestly want to see China go on a full scale retaliation and cease all business with US companies. Let's see how Apple manages to have their hardware manufactured without Chinese parts and labor.

I thought I heard Leo Laporte saying she's Transgender. That explains everything. I guess in one of her tweets "She also goes forth to mention that being a transgender, her transition has been really difficult." Oh didn't know that, but in either cases, I hope she gets the help she needs and calm down a bit instead of turning into a criminal!

Reading that message, it only says "OLD" group messages will be lost. It does not say Group Messages will no longer work in the new improved format. It reads as if the changes mean a new database table structure to support GIF's etc and that the old structure is not able to be converted. So easier to drop it and start fresh.

Ah, The Sims. So many hours spent building up my character, going through the ranks of a career and getting to the top, having a family, adding extensions to my house and putting a pool in the back garden for the BBQ season...just to then burn it all down and remove the ladder from the pool so that he drowned on a whim. Fun times!

All of this was worked out on Mac and iPhone years ago. I hope MS works it out for you guys because it‘s a killer feature to be able to do all this from the desktop and have it sync between all your devices.

Market fragmentation means nothing unless you have supportability which is limited to the latest model. From someone who constantly states that the updates don't have any value to you, this should be a good thing. Update when you need it or require it, and that's fine. The support of Windows 10 versions is there and definitely workable for old versions (to a point) and you don't have to update. 1809 was not a failure.

Throttling is simple: If you want a powerful machine, then you mustn't pick a slim notebook. Slim notebook = slow machine. It's as simple like that. True... The point here is that there are PC equivalents to the MacBook that are just as light and thin, and yet provide the proper thermal cooling design to run the newer processors faster under load. So if someone is wanting to use Photoshop or do 3D rendering - skip the Macbooks. If they MUST have a Macbook - they would save money buying a slower CPU model that can maintain 'faster' core speeds. Not only is it cheaper, but it runs faster under load. (Remember the single core performance between the i5, i7 and the i9 CPUs is not much different.)

I don't think you understand how these updates work. 1809 didn't fail. It's been replaced by a newer version, 1903. What exactly failed with 1809? As to the older Windows 10 versions, excluding 1803, the only reason a user would be on them is due to a rare hardware incompatibility, or they chose not to upgrade.

It would be nice if they expanded this program to cover other structures that could be at risk. There are a lot that are lost without such fanfare (like the Buddha statues the Taliban destroyed). They should just have an "open source" creation of UNESCO Heritage Sites one by one. Archaeologists are already doing careful mapping of older sites, but there are tons. With our collections of satellites and survey tools...

This is the new improved Microsoft version of flat. The 3D flat look. Enjoy it now, because next they'll go back to full 3D, then multi-colored 3D engraved look icons, then flat again, when the next management change happens.

They'll make them in India then, or in one of the many other cheap labor countries. Foxcomm just build a huge fab in India to make iPhones for Apple. So yeah, let's not act like we have to make everything in China and that no one place on earth has cheap labor. That's why I said parts and labor. The units being assembled in India are mainly for use in the same region and still contain 90% Chinese parts. And while they could source those parts from elsewhere, redoing the entire supply chain they have spent years perfecting would not only take time, it would raise the cost per device to the point where customer's just won't bother forking that much money.

Trump hate China and because basically all the latest tech products are made or coming from China and not the US. He wants to crush the enemy to death. I don't think it has as much to do with tech as much as it has to do with just about everything is coming from china....tech, tools, clothes, toys, textiles, etc. We love cheap labor. But forget about Trump for a minute, he does not control who businesses do or do not do business with, why do you think businesses across the board are dropping them, especially businesses from other countries? Do you really think that Trump has that much outreach that he can control every business on the planet?

Oh didn't know that, but in either cases, I hope she gets the help she needs and calm down a bit instead of turning into a criminal! She sounds really smart, she should go get a job and make some good coin. Smart people move forward. She seems pretty much stagnant to her anger and whatever hides behind that. She won't go far.

How do they disgust you? For started, ugly woman. Aren't you just an edgelord! Well done! What is your definition of edgelord?. Saying that a woman (or an avatar in this case) is ugly is not edge unless you are a snowflake, so everything is offensive (and against you). What I see: fat arses and ugly haircuts. And the funny part is everybody could see it, including you. What I'm seeing is a wide range of avatars representing the wide range of people in the gaming community. Some have bigger bodies, some have smaller bodies, some have lesser abled bodies, some have lighter skinned bodies, some have darker skinned bodies, some are older, some are younger - you know, like society is! Not sure I've ever found a caricatured avatar attractive or ugly - that seems a bit odd really, but whatever attracts you! Oh and here's the snowflake cop-out: I said a dumb thing, been called out on it, let's play that card. Doesn't hold any water unfortunately. I've taken no offence at all, just called out what is an asinine comment. And the funny part is everybody knows it, including you. "Some have bigger bodies, some have smaller bodies, some have lesser abled bodies, some have lighter skinned bodies, some have darker skinned bodies, some are older, some are younger - you know, like society is!" And that's completely fine. It's how they look like, their design, art style, if you will. Body proportions are completely wrong, faces look stupid, and all you can do is choose between ugly and ugly. You want to represent yourself as a good-looking person? Well tough luck buddy, you will look like an average SJW, whether you like it or not.

UNESCO Heritage Sites should have military protection, esp if the taliban are destroying history they don’t agree with. how you send military to protect something to a hostile country where most of the civilian population will try to attack you?
