Hum
CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida -- Space shuttle Endeavour and its six astronauts returned to Earth on Wednesday, closing out the next-to-last mission in NASA's 30-year program with a safe middle-of-the-night landing. Endeavour touched down on the runway a final time under the cover of darkness, just as Atlantis, the last shuttle bound for space, arrived at the launch pad for the grand finale in five weeks. Commander Mark Kelly -- whose wife, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, remained behind at her rehab center in Houston -- brought Endeavour to a stop before hundreds of onlookers that included the four Atlantis astronauts who will take flight in July. The museum-bound Endeavour, the youngest of the shuttles, logged nearly 123 million miles over 25 spaceflights. more

And space shuttle Endeavour gets some of the credit. Melvin Andrew Manning Jr., 18, and Justin Dinzey, 18, were arrested overnight, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said, and face charges of conveyance burglary. Both suspects are from St. Cloud. Deputies responded to a call at about 2:31 a.m. today at a home on Amanda Kay Way in Kissimmee. The victim told deputies she had been awakened by the sonic booms of Endeavour passing overhead en route to its final landing at Kennedy Space Center. When she looked outside, she saw two men inside her car, which was parked in her driveway, the Sheriff's Office said. She then saw the pair run through her yard and get into another vehicle. >

s1k3sT
space exploration and exploitation is exactly what humanity needs, it even helps fight crime for pete's sake why do you think "space exploration and exploitation" help fight crime?
neoadorable
it was a joke playing off of Doc's post. however, since proper space exploration and settlement beyond Earth will create an endless stream of jobs and expand our global economy by a factor of about a million within a couple of centuries, it will inevitably help fight crime, poverty and other social malaise by generating wealth and prosperity
