Miyagi Son
try connecting to the main server with the local ip maybe the admin is dumb and did not require auth. But usually it is cgi based and that is kinda hard to get passed by. with restrictions on the computer
matt74441
You have that stupid thing too? Its so bad at my school that all pictures are deemed pornography. A guy at my school used something called HTTP tunneler or DHCP tunneler to get through it. I'll ask him tomorrow what he used, but it got him booted from the school network, permanently. matt74441
Its called HTTP tunneler, and it works. Just keep in mind that it probably violates the network guidelines at your school. Two guys got banned from the network today for trying to use it.

CtotheJ
Set up remote desktop running on your computer on port 80. I'd like to see your school block that! Then in the 'Connect to:' box, just put in xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:
dan87
best solution is this.... Freedom Websecure The only downside is that it is $60 a year, but it is a nice service It 1) is a proxy, so your IP address is shielded ( ok they can track you if you hacked someone's network and the FBI got a court order to have Freedom give them your IP, but you probably aren't gona do anything like that, and Freedom doesn't keep logs more than than a few days) 2) Solves your issue with blocked sites/images since it is a proxy 3) Doesn't need to have a seperate installer from CD or Floopy, all you do is go to their website and download the activex applet ( This MAY be disabled if it is on a library machine) 4) It then encrypts all your browser data from your browser to their ( Freedom's ) proxy server... so basicly, if your school is watching network traffic, all they see are a bunch of connections made to something like gateway1.freedom.com and if they actually sniff packets, they'll only get encrypted jibberish. Hope that helps. I know that there is a free program called proxomitron, but that has limited success, since proxies - unless you pay for them - are always going down/changing
