TCP SYN Flooding

Recommended Posts

Found this in my log for my wireless router. Had no idea what this was, but after reading it would seem someone was trying to take down my box. Here's the exact entry:

2003/09/06 15:35:30 ** TCP SYN Flooding ** <IP/TCP> 193.108.95.32:80 ->> 68.108.120.97:49092

Now, should I find out who the ISP for this number is? Should I forward the log to my ISP? Contact local law enforcement? Just suk it up?

or just ignore it, i dont even bother to look at my logs nowadays.... its not like your isp is going to do anything.....

perhaps if it is repeatidly happening then go ahead, but for the one off it aint worth it.

I work for an ISP , we have an abuse department for this kind of thing.

Users get tracked down and warned for doing this, and reminded out our T&Cs and they rarely second offend.
