I am looking for something that's smart enough to detect which monitor VLC player is playing on. if it's on the second monitor (TV) then it should automatically switch the default audio to HDMI so that the sound comes from TV. If I drag the player back onto my desktop, I would like it to switch to the speakers.
Also wondering if there is a way to use both? make some applications use the HDMI and some applications to use the speakers. example : VLC will always play movies on big screen so that can always play on HDMI. all my games will always be on the monitor so I need their audio to come out of speakers.
It seems simple enough to write an app for this and seems like a good idea, has anyone done it?
Vista audio changer does work when VLC starts and closes and that's almost good enough. I wish there was a way for it to detect the displays. Vista audio changer is too buggy and erratic to be used on a regular basis.
