-=SD=-
OK, I run through those steps to setup a network, it goes fine for my pc but on my brothers pc (while using the network disk it asks to make) it gives an error and is unable to complete. :pinch: So, I come here for help lol, Printer is USB (yea we could swap wire but we are lazy it's a big desk so wires are in the back hard to reach) and we connect to the internet using cable/ethernet. Basically this is how it is setup... cable modem > router > split to both are pc's, so there isn't technically any wires that are connecting both pc's they just both connect to router, is that the problem? //edit both pc's use XP pro

John Veteran Posted September 15, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 15, 2003 make sure ICF is turned off like davey said, and make sure the printer is shared, and that the "everyone" group has permission to print (default setting). also, what version of windows is he using? try installing the printer manually. add a new printer, choose to add a network printer. then type in the path to the printer (or browse). it shouldn't ask for drivers if the computers use the same version of windows, but if it does, just get your windows cd ready.
