Unnattended/winPE forum

Recommended Posts

M.S.F.N and a few other sites have forums for Boot CDs, win PE and unattended XP/2003 CDs. I think it would be a good idea if neowin had one for all of these, in one forum maybe, or subforums of a CD modding section, then neowin might attract a new range of people.

Well I won't post links, but the 911CD forum has different forums, and people use it for loads of different problems with making sort of 'live windows CDs' if you can call them that. I just think it would be a good idea. Take a look if you want, you'll see what I mean

well again, I'm interested

but one thing that has been on my mind for a very very long time..

Why call it XP client? it sounds like that it's referring to help with getting nt/2k/xp connecting to a Server such as a domain, rather than help with general problems such as explorer crashing or what not.

I would prefer if the XP Client and Server forums are renamed, ie:

currently...

"Windows NT4/2000/XP Client"

"Windows NT4/2000/2003 Server"

what to me seems a better way of describing these forums...

"Windows NT4/2000/XP Desktop" (not Windows NT4/2000/XP Desktop and Laptop because that might technically be even more correct, but could cause confusion with the mobile devices forum, and Desktop is more general)

"Windows NT4/2000/2003 Server"

:)

That's just getting too detailed. The current naming scheme is perfect, because XP Pro/2k Pro/NT4 Workstation are clients, reguardless of whether or not they connect to a server, they're client operating systems.

I'm interested on giving help to anyone and everyone. It's so damn easy to pickup. And I can give lots of information, and examples of my work. Which will benifit all :)

Right, I guess I'll be the brave one and make this guide on Neowin. This will be for the simple Unattended install. All other questions I will answer with an extensive guide on how to do it, expect a guide on Neowin soon...
