Best .mp3 player?

Question

So I recently reformatted because my computer is archaic specs wise and I wanted a fresh start.

What do you guys use for .mp3 players that have easy to create playlist options and decent customization?

I do prefer a relatively minimalist look. Less is more in my opinion.

In the past I have played with and used Winamp. What else is out there?

Foobar with the SubjectBeauty skin

Only thing that I dislike with this skin/setup, and a lot of the setups, is there is no "OPEN FILES" button. I don't know how people like this setup. Do you open files with Windows Explorer instead? It's nice to open your files from within the application, no?

I use Clementine, simply because I still haven't found anything close to Exaile in terms of user interface on Windows (both are 'continuation' of Amarok 1.x, but only Clementine offers Mac and Windows builds along with Linux ones).

Thanks for bringing this up, for some reason I thought Clementine was OSX only.

I tried foobar and all the nice looking skins I could find didn't work with it as far as I could tell due to mismatched versions. For example I thought a skin called Foobear Remix looked pretty good but I couldn't get it to work and/or I couldn't figure out how to make it work due to lack of instructions!

If someone can suggest a great skins and layout with an itunes-esque library type setup that works I'll be all over it for my music solution!

VLC? really people use that for music?

I personally use Itunes to make playlists and organize stuff but then use spotify to play the music. it automatically reads whatever playlists I tunes has and you can make more.

I tried that one a while ago to se if I can make a fake wmp to troll people into using foobar when they think they are using wmp LOL... couldn't get that one working either.

foobar is touchy with skins....

I hate all these music managers. Wish there was still good programs that just play mp3s. Foobar looks great with that theme "SubjectBeauty" as posted above.

Why do your guys are still using mp3's? I started to convert my music library from mp3 to eAAC+, imagine a 24kbps song sounding the same as 192kbps mp3. To me it's perfect and I can put a lot on my iPod touch. A whole album (1h15 approx) is about 10-15 megabytes total. I discovered the eAAC+ from radio streams, I was stunned by the quality

eAAC+

try to do that with a 24 bit/192Khz studio quality file.
