sixth_element
Hey I'm having a problem networking AOL DSL (yes i know it sucks, but i gotta do it for my family's 2 computers). Sorry for another thread but I read a little that there's a different way to network 2 computers onto AOL DSL but haven't found any much help on how to do it. I'm trying to make it so the two computers can be online at the same time. I have a linksys wireless setup. 2 NIC's on the host computer and a wireless pci card on the guest. I am having trouble on what to do from here. Any help please. If you can, please explain step by step.. Thanks a lot
PCKing
ok do you have a linksys router or Access Point (WAP) ???? If you have a router, plug that into your DSL modem... if its an access point you will need at least 2 static IP's from your ISP otherwise only 1 will be allowed online at a time... sixth_element
yeah it's a wireless but there's a port for WAP which it says to plug in the ethernet cord from the original router. i heard that u have to use two nic's but i'm unclear on how to do so. i know it can be done because i read that someone was able to do it but they did not explain on how to do so. Zip
thats not a router, thats a switch. plug your modem into your host pc, connect host pc to the wireless swtich. link up the other pc via wireless so they can see each other. then enable internet sharing. step by step guide -> http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing
