OrangeSoul
Well here is the problem, all of a sudden today my internet connection went bust, the cable company said its problem with your router, so i reconnected my PC directly to the Cable Modem and it works but when i reconnect it to the Router and Release and Renew IPconfig, it doesnt work when i connect to direct cable modem it says in ipconfig section Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : mtwd.phub.net.cable.rogers.com IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : xx.xxx.xxx.xx Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : xxx.xxx.xxx.xx Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : xx.xxx.xxx.x But when i connect my router instead of saying the same thing in the Connection specific DNS Suffix: section it is empty, the IP address is 198.1.168.100 which is the router address and the rest is normal, what should I do? mAcOdIn Veteran Posted September 15, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 15, 2003 Well some routers can overheat so you could maybe turn it off for awhile and see if that helps. Also I've seen a few people post recently that thier linksys routers just crapped out on them recently and simply updating the firmware fixed it for them so you could also try that. If you already have the latest firmware just reflash the firmware with the same version. Also in some routers they have the option of running as either a gateway or just a router. If your router has the option ensure it's set to gateway.
