Ccleaner Drive Wiper

Question

Hey guys I was just wondering if Ccleaners drive wiper with the Gutman 35 pass is any good? Would it be the best way to destroy all data on a drive without having to physically destroy the drive?

On todays hard drives, the bits are so closely packed together that a single pass is all that's needed to make the data unrecoverable by any means. Unless your hard drive is over 10 years, it's really not necessary.

Ohhh. So the Gutman 35 pass is more than enough?

Yeah 35 is ridiculously overkill, but if you want to wipe the whole drive you should use a boot disk. CCleaner can only wipe free disk space.

I believe the Drive Wiper will wipe the whole thing
