OrangesOfCourse
how do u go about making a hd/partation have a pass or invisable to everyone exept the person that the admin allowes? just wanted to know that.. laterz ;)
aliz
You can't do that. Maybe if you are using windows np/2k/xp and have ntfs and you install Partition Magic 7 and you make the partition you want hidden. And you can also restrict the use of the Partition MAgic 7 program only to you.
Geronimo
you can do that. just give only the admin group permissions to the drive. remove all other groups and users permissions (including read) from that drive. better yet set them to denied access. they should not be able to see or access for sure that drive. mtgriffith
um.. i am missing the tab..!? Is your partition FAT32 or NTFS?
Geronimo
oh yeah, sh*t sorry you need to have it be a ntfs partition. and to see if you have the simple file sharing on Control Panel->Network connection->Lan or High speed connection(or whatever is you defualt connection). Right click on that connection and goto properties. you should see simple file sharing. I dont remember the exact name. I uninstalled it. just uncheck or uninstall it. If you need to convert the file system drop down to a command prompt and type with out qoutes "volume /FS:NTFS" where the volume would be your partition. it will convert on the next reboot. If you want to stay on FAT32 file system you will need to get a third party app. i dont know of any off the top of my head.

Geronimo
there is another option also. Control Panel->Folder options->view tab-> last option on the bottom is use simple file sharing. uncheck that. then i would bouce your system to make sure it takes. It should take right away, but to be certain.

loki_rising
the best way to do this is to create a group and place you mom, sister ...whom ever in it and then deny that group. If you go about denying everything you might deny the everyone group and that includes the everyone group. Besides if you created a group for them you can easily start to control there actions on you computer.
