IT Support Request Software or SaaS?

Question

So we are currently making use of Sharepoint07 and its features to have a Support Request Ticket System in house. The only bad part is that we also have to use lists to catalog assets and such (when turnover is moderate) its a hassle to keep this list up to date all the time. I've ran across SysAid and found it to be pretty good, but are there any thoughts on other Support Request Systems? Does anyone else have experience using SysAid? The only benefit I can see through using SysAid (and its only for the PRO version ~$600) is the LDAP Synch but I am hoping there is another open source solution I may have missed in my searching...
