I'm hoping you guys will be able to assist or suggest with this, as I'm plum out of ideas.
Let me set the scene here.
Windows Server 2000 sharing files to a network. Windows Server 2000 running SP4.
Windows XP PC's running SP3 with Office 2007 running SP2.
User double clicks an Excel Document to open. Excel opens on the PC in question then pops up with a message saying the file "cannot be found".
User goes back to the folder in question to find the file missing.
Checking the security auditing logs on Windows Server 2000 shows the user's logon name with a delete marker against the file in question, however the user has said many times that they haven't deleted the file, they merely tried to open it.
Anyone care to /discuss or share thoughts?
(I know Windows Server 2000 is end of life. We're 3/4 of the way through a migration project from AD2000 to AD2008 R2)
