Redestium
I've been replaying it on hard mode recently striving for that elusive 100% (which I now know I can't get since I missed scanning something in the beginning of the game ), and I just had to reiterate how damn cool this game is. The lock ups however were a turn off (only happened once but was very irritating), as were the slow-to-open-doors?. However, once you see past that the game is something truly brilliant and I'd really like to hear everyone's thoughts on what the next one could be about. Personally I'd love to see something after Fusion or something before the original Metroid (Metroid: Genesis perhap:unsure:e:) showing Samus getting her suit and being trained by the Chozo or something to that effect. AndyD
I loved the game but I don't imagine myself ever wanting to go through the game again just to get 100%. Are there any reasons why I should? To be honest, I haven't even finished the game. Zelda came into the picture while I was still finishing up Metriod :)

doggbizkit00
I've been replaying it on hard mode recently striving for that elusive 100% (which I now know I can't get since I missed scanning something in the beginning of the game ), scans dont count towards % completion...trust me, played through twice, got 100% on hard w/o scanning everything, ask others if you dont believe me
.....
He's right, you don't need the scans (you only need to scan red ones, or creatures for 100% though)
Boffa Jones Veteran Posted September 18, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 18, 2003 Wow is that actually true? I thought the scans were the main factor in your percentage. But aside from that Metroid is one of the best games i have ever played. I mean its just awesome. Especially if you have surround. The first time that I saw the chozo ghosts I had shivers up my spine. And the sound they make especially when they are behind you!!! Or when you are running from them and you hear a fading one as you enter the next room. That game could really pull you in. For the next one i hope that they add a bit of contact with others, but that could very well kill the mood. Other than that it would be cool if there were more of a 'detective' element chasing down a bad guy in multiple planets. EDIT: and of course how coudl i forget ill bet anythign the big 'dinosaur' boss will probably be in it. Kraid i think his name was.
dountoyounow
I rented it once but didnt get to play it until a couple hours before it was due back because of a report that came up. I didnt get far but the graphics and gameplay blew me away. I want to try again but i think i will need lots of help ;)
Boffa Jones Veteran Posted September 18, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 18, 2003 Actually the game isn't overly hard. It isnt a bad thing at all as it isnt easy. But they didnt make it impossible.
.....
The percentage is upgrades you've collected, although when you hit 98% there's only one to go, it's a glitch in the game. ***spoilers I suppose*** Kraid isn't in the game ***end "spoilers"***
Redestium
Yeah, I missed the Hive Mecha in the beginning, so I probably won't hit 100 percent this go through. Oh well, just will replay it again in a few months after I finish it on hard mode. :)
Boffa Jones Veteran Posted September 18, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 18, 2003 Nonono i meant for the next game... i beat it in feb (metroid prime) Unless you are talking about the new one?
.....
Oops, I got mixed up :p Misread your post. I think the next one will be between Prime and Metroid 2 from the looks of things in the trailer, no idea about Kraid, it'd be nice tho.
Gary_Player
I havent played the any of the new metriods (except on a friends GBA once) but I loved all the old ones...I Have the ones for NES, SNES, and gameboy and I've beaten all of them a few hundred times. G-Mna16
Hey ppl My frends got Metroid Prime and i was gonna get it but Zelda came out  and i think that thats alot better than Metroid Prime  . I think that the zelda games hav better story lines than Metroid instead of just blowin stuff up u hav to solve puzzels, there some simalarites like bein able to get different customes and a selection of weapons. :) But I like the old style of fantasy more :D
SpeaR
I dont have a GC but i've been playing Metroid Fusion on the GBA since a week now, I dont play it continuously but I play it 3 - 4 hrs a day. Boffa Jones Veteran Posted September 20, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 20, 2003 It is worth it Metroid Prime is awesome and you get the original metroid if you have Fusion beat so its like getting a free nintendo game.
