FireBlade
I have to admit, I have a penchant for text-based RPGs. Rather than being drawn to them by the actual gameplay (that REALLY only takes a few minutes each day), I'm probably drawn to them by the community and message boards. I play A3: Awakening, and used to be a manager for an online game Criminals-RPG (with over 10,000 players). Am I the only one who has (or dares to admit that he/she has) a liking for online text-based RPGs? Note: Sorry for the Outwar-like link, I figure if you're going to go find out about it you'd might as well give me a helping hand in a contest that's being run. Don't worry, the actual game is nothing like the accursed Outwar.

FireBlade
Yeah, kinda like MUDs I guess. I know what you mean, you can play it for years and still be nowhere. >_<

AmpCoder
I help program for some web-based games. I also play some like the AAA. But I prefer making them to playing them..
FireBlade
I was doing some programming on my own web-based game for a while, I never had the patience to continue with it though. :p
DsnBehind
The best of all time: Radical Dreamers for Satellaview! WooHoo! I've been playing the translated version on ZSNES. The best!
XavierHyde
I did play on some MUDs for a while but I still think RPGBBS (otherwise known as the Hack'n'Slash BBS door) is the best (Radical Dreamers not counted of course :) ). It's been ported by the original author to run as a daemon under *nix and allow telnet connections, it's now called RPGd. Clicky.
devBrian
I played Gemstone III for about 2 years. MUDs get boring after a while.
Statikk
I tried moongate once. I couldn't stand it though. I need pretty pictures, I have a broken imaginator. :(
Bubbo
I used to play a mud called threshold, but it took so long to get anywhere and the only things that you could kill to get experience gave you so little and you couldn't really do anything because you were so weak, and after level 4 if you died you lost a level. You could pay to get experience ans a house etc.. but it was ?50 minimum and i was certainly not going to spend that much on a mud.
