Best cloud storage solution

Question

So I'm curious to hear what would be the best cloud service for storing files and using them across multiple devices, computers (desktop and laptop) and making sure that files are always sync-ed.

Here's why I ask.

I want to be able to have my projects and work and designs stored in the cloud instead of my hard drives. Naturally, I also want to put my existing music, photos and so on but mostly want to use it for work.

WIth the rise of ultrabooks and thin laptops and tablets with limited storage this makes sense to me. I don't care if it's a pay service but here are a few things that I need to get from cloud storage service:

1. Needs to allow me unlimited storage (with different pay plans of course as my library and number of projects grow). So for example I can start with 50-100gb than as I fill it up, I can pay a bit more money and get additional storage.

2. It naturally needs to be protected from everyone and be accessible only via secure password.

3. It needs integrate seamlessly with Windows and OSX in a way that I can see folders or files as part of the local filesystem on my laptop or desktop and preferably with tablets and phones (through apps or services)

4. Needs to have backups constantly so if something goes wrong the files are always there. I don't mind having automatic backup NAS (HDDs) on my desktop machine that will be used like Time Machine but for my cloud storage.

So I'm curious, is anyone using a service that fulfills these requirements? So far from what I've seen Dropbox seems to be the closest candidate. Have not looked into iCloud too much but I don't think this will work on Windows.

Does Google have anything similar or what other services you would recommend for me to look at?

I'll give you a simple scenario of my desired workflow

I work on my Mac Pro, I design or write code. I save and it automatically saves stuff to the cloud. I need to run out on the meeting and I grab the Mac Book Air and during the meeting I have to show and discuss code or designs I finished before I stormed out of my home office.

I come home and I get on the PC because I have to do some 3D but I also have Photoshop running so I need to get some textures and graphics from what I worked on on a Mac to use in 3D render so I open that PSD and work with it on the PC.

Curious to see some recommendations or comments.

I like Sugarsync and dropbox the best. They both are good, sugarsync gives you 5GB free plus 500MB bonus for both of us with that link... with paid options of course. Dropbox is 2GB and up with a 250MB bonus on that link for both of us.Both support PC and OS X. I also like that they have iPhone and android apps so you can access your files on the go as well. I think sugarsync has a nicer interface. just my 2 cents.

i'm trying SugarSync first. It looks like very good service. It supports ALL platforms and works just as I need it and also has up to 250gb storage with affordable $25 a month.

I've been using pogoplug for about a year now, with 3 1TB external hard drives. I'm syncing all my music, videos and documents between several PC's, using Windows OSX and Linux, and mobile devices. I can also share add share permissions to the drives to allow extended shares with the rest of my family and friends with out them installing any additional software.

The only cost is for the device, and the external drives, the syncing and sharing is completely free, there is no monthly fee once your up and running.
