Cannot install Windows 7 Professional

Question

It's weird.

I thought I solved this a while ago.. since laptop had same issue.. but laptop is indeed different then PC.

Anyway~ PC: Working on Windows 7 Home Premium x64- M3N/H Hdmi, 6GB Ram, Amd Phenom 945 3ghz. GTX260, 700W, 500GB

I thought the problem was ... AHCI Settings.. put them back into RAID or IDE nothing works. .. The problem says there is some driver missing.. And it can?t continue install.

Put in Windows 7 Home Premium x64 DVD.. works like a charm. Shame it doesnt have the options i wanted it to have.

Am I doing something wrong?

what driver is missing? install the HP version that works and start it up. once that's up, put in the pro disk and start the installation and give it the same drive. make sure you aren't doing an upgrade. windows will copy the files to your computer and restart and install and you don't need any disk.

not sure if that will work but try it, it's worked for me in the past. also it would help us diagnose the problem if you tell us what the error is exactly.

You should probably tell us what driver is missing..

Without knowing the driver it's complaining about... Offhand it sounds like you're using a burned disc, & the disc wasn't burned correctly. This causes the Win 7 setup to complain that you're missing a CD/DVD driver usually. If that's the case, just re-burn the Win 7 iso to a new disc & you should be good to go.

I have had this problem numerous times with burned copies. I solved my issue by using ImgBurn and letting it burn at the slowest speed possible and it fixed my problem. :)

just adding to the workaround

excatly the same problem would happen with any versions of vista 32 and 64bit, and buring the .iso at the slowest speed allways resolved the issue.
