Lurchybaby
Sin by Ritual Entertainment. Released a couple weeks before Half-Life. Activision in their ohh soo infinite wisdom decided to make Ritual push it out the door before it was ready so that it's hit shelves before Half-Life by a couple weeks. There were bugs soo bad in it there was even a level you couldn't pass, among other crappy bugs. Obviously this cause a lot of bad reviews and many people on the Activision support bord even said they were returning it to exchange for Half-Life.After they fixed the damn thing, I liked it better then Half-Life. Aye, I remember that loading bug, where it took an insane amount of time to load the game and each level. Overall the game was not on par with HalfLife, but I still enjoyed the game nonetheless. Remember the Easter Egg with the woman in the whirlpool?
parhamreza
Syberia? I wouldn't say it quite fits the bill, I am sure it was the most played Adventure game of 2002, but then again the Adventure genere in total hasn't had much sucess sales wise recently. Jiles
Betrayal in Krondor... sierra was even giving it for free dl :D Only as a promotion for the sequel. I think it sold pretty well, I can't remember back to the early/mid 90's that well though. Planescape:Torment. A sadly underplayed game indeed. XavierHyde
I'd like to add a game I mentioned in the Classics thread: Enemy Nations - "The best game you never played". And they've put the entire game online (http and BitTorrent) for you to enjoy since their publisher went belly-up. Betrayal in Krondor... sierra was even giving it for free dl :) Yes, this was easily one of the most underrated games ever. Sierra did the right thing to release it for free, at least it got some more attention that way.
Bubbo
Sacrifice, a weird mix of an rts and 3rd person action with some rpg elements thrown in. One of my all time favourite games yet hardly anyone has ever heard of it. I only found out about it because it came bundled with my graphics card.
