Nick H. Supervisor Posted August 30, 2011 Supervisor Share Posted August 30, 2011 I just found this. Cornell?s Creative Machines Lab hooked up Cleverbot to itself to see what would happen. It's a bit of an odd conversation, and a tad scary at the same time.
Jeston Veteran Posted August 30, 2011 Veteran Share Posted August 30, 2011 The video was funny, but what I found even more funny was the book the right monitor is sitting on. I have the EXACT same book under one of my monitors!
ThePitt
I have the EXACT same book under one of my monitors! and I guess thats the only utility that you could find to that book. Not sure if funny or sad.

Phouchg
What is the purpose of having loads of predefined responses instead of doing an actual AI research? Someone pit this against ALICE now to see if "clever" can be remotely associated with this thing.

I remember having conversations with ALICE and getting equally bizarre responses to questions.
shakey
I wonder how long it would take a lot of us to completely ruin Cleverbot. My idea : We log in, and the only thing we ever type is SPAM. No matter what it ask, you reply, SPAM. How long would it take for the entries of SPAM to fill its pages and suddenly only have it just saying SPAM....? Detection
If it is programmed as well as they say it is, it would never just say spam, it would use each thing it learns in moderation But some of the responses are far too fast for it to have actually decided that was the correct response, it just says what it likes

Jeston Veteran Posted August 30, 2011 Veteran Share Posted August 30, 2011 and I guess thats the only utility that you could find to that book. Not sure if funny or sad. Nope, it served its purpose while I was in school. I thoroughly enjoyed the class, but I chose not to pursue a career in computer science or a computer science related field. It just happened to be the first thing I found that was nearly exactly the right height.
