0 agreenbhm
Um, okay? What's the point of this thread? IDK if you saw the post before or after I posted the image (screwed up my OP). If you saw it before, look again. If you don't appreciate it, then you're not a virtualization administrator :)

0 sc302 Veteran Posted August 30, 2011 Veteran Share Posted August 30, 2011 I think i've been using vmware wrong. it's meh, i dont get excited about it. It is nice, but it doesn't get me going as much as a server with 6 proc each with 6 cores with 128GB of ram does and a 40TB san. call me spoiled. garethevans1986 1 Share

0 agreenbhm
NM I see. And what exactly is the point of nesting vm's? VM'ing inside of a VM. VMware Workstation 7, running ESXi5, running XP. No point of nesting VMs. Obviously it'd be a performance killer, and quite pointless. I just downloaded ESXi5 to test inside of VMware Workstation before deploying in my office, and figured for the hell of it I'd try to install a VM inside of it (which I didn't think you were able to do, and may not have been able to do, until ESXi5). When it worked, I was pretty stoked. Virtualization has come so far!
