fo0tprintz
A question for you neowinians out there: I have a brand new HD which I'm planning to install XP on. Is it possible to create multiple partitions on that drive within the Windows XP installation procedure? or do I need third-party software? I'm planning to create three partitions on a 60 GB drive. Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated. :)
Trojin
if the drive is retail it comes with a sweet little disk the formats and partitions your hdd for you. I know what your thinking "why don't you just use FDISK" I like that to but I got a Maxtor HDD and it came with a disk and I decided to try this out for once and I formatted and partitioned with that and it was pretty nice you can select the amount of partitions etc. 1,2,3... and when you do it the process take like 1 second because it creates a partition table and it is done really fast. But to really answer your question you cannot create multiple partitions with the XP CD.
xzor9
You should get Partition Magic.
fo0tprintz
Thanks for the replies. No, unfortunately, it was not retail. Got it OEM from newegg (the best e-tailer out there). As for partition magic, I've tried it before, and its a great program. The downside? Kind of an expensive solution to the problem, especially if you're not willing to go through the effort of hunting down cracks for it ;). That being said, any other alternatives?
