Using one computer, as two. Kinda'.

Question

Hey,

My setup has two monitors. Would it be possible (software wise) to plug in another keyboard and mouse and use like some kind of virtual machine on the second desktop so somebody else could use the computer at the same time as me, if that makes sense?

Can't find anything google'ing.

When setting up a virtual machine I think you can select which mouse/keyboard to use and then as long as they kept focus on the virtual machine it wouldn't affect what the main user was doing. I could (and most likely will) be wrong though :p

Well, questions arise as to why you would want to do this? I don't really see how you could assign two keyboards/mice to an IRQ for utilization w/in a 'physical' single environment regardless of virtualization.

Tho, could be wrong on that.... Virtual Server hosting would allow you to accomplish this, but you would still need multiple terminals to communicate effectively with the software and not exactly what you are asking for....

Which VM software? Suppose that would be good information, I'd love to see that.

I have no idea, was just a guess :p Haven't set up a virtual machine in ages, just recalled setting up what hardware it used in VMWare and thought maybe that was one of the options.
