Redmondian
What do you think? Lyrics to Where is the love? Lyrics: What's wrong with the world, mama People livin' like they ain't got no mamas I think the whole world addicted to the drama Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism But we still got terrorists here livin' In the USA, the big CIA The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK But if you only have love for your own race Then you only leave space to discriminate And to discriminate only generates hate And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah Badness is what you demonstrate And that's exactly how anger works and operates << racial epithet >>, you gotta have love just to set it straight Take control of your mind and meditate Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all People killin', people dyin' Children hurt and you hear them cryin' Can you practice what you preach And would you turn the other cheek Father, Father, Father help us Send us some guidance from above 'Cause people got me, got me questionin' Where is the love (Love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love The love, the love It just ain't the same, always unchanged New days are strange, is the world insane If love and peace is so strong Why are there pieces of love that don't belong Nations droppin' bombs Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones With the ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die young So ask yourself is the lovin' really gone So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong In this world that we livin' in people keep on givin' in Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug If you never know truth then you never know love Where's the love, y'all, come on (I don't know) Where's the truth, y'all, come on (I don't know) Where's the love, y'all People killin', people dyin' Children hurt and you hear them cryin' Can you practice what you preach And would you turn the other cheek Father, Father, Father help us Send us some guidance from above 'Cause people got me, got me questionin' Where is the love (Love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love The love, the love I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder Most of us only care about money makin' Selfishness got us followin' in the wrong direction Wrong information always shown by the media Negative images is the main criteria Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria Kids act like what they see in the cinema Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity Whatever happened to the fairness in equality Instead in spreading love we spreading animosity Lack of understanding, leading lives away from unity That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under Gotta keep my faith alive till love is found People killin', people dyin' Children hurt and you hear them cryin' Can you practice what you preach And would you turn the other cheek Father, Father, Father help us Send us some guidance from above 'Cause people got me, got me questionin' Where is the love (Love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love (The love)

Redmondian
good song but the point of this thread? it gets played on the radio a thousand times a day I know. Sorry no real point except that I wanted to see if anyone else felt as "touched" or affected by this song. And what your / their thoughts are. ze-newie
Yeah I think the lyrics are quite powerful, but they have more of an effect when you see them written down than when they're put to music for some reason. Good message nonetheless :)

MR_Candyman
Ya, actually, if you listen to their whole cd it's all very moving, even the songs that at first don't seem like it are dealing with issues. That's the way they work. I think the girl (can't remember her name) is a good addition to their force. Will.i.am always good with the instrumentals, lyrics and singing, as are the others with their bits. They're one group I hope never loses my respect. Iain
Pointless topic imo. All songs are made to affect people in a certain way. You could make a million threads on songs that affect you, because they relate to you in some way.

+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted September 22, 2003 Subscriber² Share Posted September 22, 2003 Moving? They are contrived rhyming couplets.
newsgeek
Ignorance is bliss, eh? People, try to put the fact that some of you hate rap away for a second, and look at the message of the song... I do agree it does send out a good message. :)
+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted September 22, 2003 Subscriber² Share Posted September 22, 2003 Ok start with this: You assume I hate rap? I kinda like a lot of rap, but this is pop, pure and simple. Also, let's face it, I am not hating any genre here, I am pointing out that the lyrics are shoddy. And ignorant? Let he who casts the first stone... I fail to see the need to make personal insults here? Yeah it contains a nice little message, very cute and all. But the fact is that simple rhyming couplets and so forth are not going to impress me. The message comes across as cliche'd and completely contrived. And it's nothing new anyhow!

memNOC
i agree with nj.. nothing new to the pop genre.. has been done a billion times before, but i can see how someone might be 'touched' by the 'message'.. or it could be my biased response, since i dont like the group at all.. the rhyming is butt, the content is butt-er and the beats are just plain ass.. they can sure dance tho :woot: ...but i just didnt get the whole female thing now.. throw the bitch out  EDIT://ok after listening the song, i can just confirm my point and add: IT FU*KING SUCKS! dear god..... this shouldnt be NEAR hip hop in any way.. :x
snocked
Everything's been said before. Nothing left to say anymore. When it's all the same, you can ask for it by name. This is the new sh*t.
