Temp. folders related to?

Question

Since 1week or so on C:\Users\Cosmin\AppData\Local some sort of folders appear with no content (0 bytes) which are named such as {D41ACA5D-6361-4481-8675-8220BD6AA82E}. I wish to find out to what software are related to cause their number increase misteriously. I suspect Autodesk Inventor which I use often or Outlook..

Any suggestion is welcome.

Are the folders definitely empty? e.g. did you already set your Folder Options to show hidden/system files?

Usually those types of folders contain .msi files, some programs keep the installed .msi file available on the computer in case you want to uninstall the program later. Otherwise without the .msi file available the uninstall might not work. e.g. installing Java on computers tends to do that a lot.

If they're empty, they should be safe to delete.. what happens when you delete them? Do they get recreated?

Also, what happens if you try to rename them? If it doesn't let you delete/rename that might be a clue that there's a program using those folders for something.

They're empty..I've set Folder options to show hidden/system files. Nothing happends.. they really get recreated.

Also, what happens if you try to rename them? If it doesn't let you delete/rename that might be a clue that there's a program using those folders for something.
