Olog-hai
Hey all, Yesterday I installed the latest updates from Microsoft (Security Update, December 17, 2001) and today my local network (two shared PCs) doesnt work - nothing else has been added/changed on either PC. If the PC A (the XP machine is up) it runs fine, if PC B (Win98) is up it runs fine, but if they are both up PC A continuously lockups and neither can ping the other. Before this they were both working perfectly. Any ideas Anyone else had problems after this update

correllium
The uninstall should be in add/remove prog's, it's Windows XP Hotfix (Q315000)
freeza
should be in the add/remove control panel under Windows XP Hotfix Q415456465 or whatever

Olog-hai
OK After trying the help I am still having problems but at least I have narrowed it down :) The XP system constantly locks up now when the two PCs are joined in a peer-to-peer lan. THis would lead me to beleive something has gone screwy with the NIC, so I have. Unistall the card Reinstalled the card Still with the same result - lockups. The card itself is a Netgear FA310TX 10/100 and I have had no problems with it in this environment until now. I was wondering if it was an IRQ conflict, but nice XP wont let me change the IRQ (the use automatic settings box is greyed out) Any ideas?
