Frank
In my opinion the best thing to do is to go out and spend 50.00 (with a 20.00 mail in rebate) on a Microsoft router. It is very secure and it also is very user friendly for people who do not have a lot of security knowledge. It will keep you secure and you don?t need a computer running 24x7 to keep the connection on.
OPaul
Unless you regularly download viruses and trojans just enable ICF. It's perfect for the average home user.
Fredde87
what if he is running 2000??? I used to have zonealarm (set to medium on internet and low on local). It didnt prevent me from using msn but I switched to a router because I wanted uPnP...
John Veteran Posted September 24, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 24, 2003 if you have the money, a router is much better than ICS. if you don't, ICF will work just fine.
Muffzilla
Did I just hear someone use the word "secure" in the same sentence with Microsoft?

Frank
Did I just hear someone use the word "secure" in the same sentence with Microsoft? Yes, I shuddered when I first typed it in also. I still think they are doing alot better then in the past about security.
