Updating iTunes 10.5 beta 9 to 10.5 final?

Question

I am getting a "This copy of itunes will expire soon." message when I start iTunes 10.5 beta 9 (Windows).

I have downloaded the 10.5 final but I only get Repair and Remove options.

Repair did not help.

i am concerned removing 10.5 beta 9 (in order to install 10.5 final) may delete my backups etc.

I assume by your sig that you are on Windows. I would like to enlighten you, but I didn’t have this "repair" option on Mac OS X, I only had "Install" so I installed the final version over beta 9.

Don’t you get options when you click on remove? Like when you uninstall a game and you keep the game saves ?

the apple software update doesn't update it?

When I go to Help > Check for Updates, I get "This version of iTunes (10.5) is the current version."

What's the build number on beta 9? I have 10.5.0.142 on the final, they might be the same build number.

10.5.0.113.

10.5 final won't have iTunes Match, so if you're testing that, get the recently released iTunes 10.5.1 beta.

If you're not, just grab the direct download of 10.5 from Apple's site.

Your iPhone/iPad backups are stored separately from the iTunes files, and are always going to be unaffected by installation/uninstallation of iTunes.

I installed the beta version of iTunes on Saturday so I could install the GM iOS 5 on my phone. Last night I got the "this copy is due to expire soon" message.

I downloaded iTunes 10.5 from Apple and installed over the top of the beta.

Now when I start iTunes it keeps on hanging and I have to close it from the task manager. Now it wont even last 30 seconds before hanging.

I've tried re-installation and opening it with a new profile, same problem.

Any ideas?
