Sir Topham Hatt
Oh, and use Icaros for thumbnail generation inside the Windows shell. You can find it on Shark007's tools page. I may take a look at this. Although not a huge biggie, it's a shame Windows doesn't include thumbnails for MKV / M2TS / TS yet. For me, I have just got VLC media player and that's it. Although I am currently having problems with it, WMP can surely use the codecs it comes with to play files?

deactivated_
Not for a long time now. They removed QT A and RP A in all versions (basic, lite etc.) ages ago. Source: http://www.codecguid..._comparison.htm Thanks, I knew I wasn't crazy thinking that K-Lite was 100% legit now, and has been for a long time.... BetaAddict
I think you can download a media player like as VLC Just to see what all the fuss is about with MPC-HC, I'll give it a one week trial as well to see how if it really is an improvement over VLC. I have used VLC for years now that I never bothered to try another media player simply because it worked and never caused any issues. I suppose better alternatives may have come along in the mean time.
