How to back up music that was "manually" added to iPhone

Question

So i've " manually manage music and videos" Because I don't use itunes as my default player and because iTunes is dumb when adding new music ( eg. you add X folder to the music folder, it won't auto-update the iphone unless you "sync it.. TLDR)..

I manually added around 8Gb of songs ( 400 more or less) with art work. Last time I updated from 4.0.1 to 4.3.3, I had to manually add artwork again and song by song...

I want to upgrade to iOS 5, but don't want to lose all my songs again. ( obviously, they're not my only back up) just manually adding each and every song again is sooo time consuming, not to mention itunes doesn't play nice with some artwork.

I've download a couple "iphone back up" but with no success...

Most of the apps you can download for free only work with iPod classics unfortunatly. If you have an iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad you need another app. I found an app called CopyTrans which backed up all my Books, Movies, Music and Voice Memos off my iPhone. Unfortunatly its $20, but a one time payment to always be able to back up my songs off my iPhone was worth it to me.
