Anyway, back on topic.

For those who have AOL, you can actually view the trailer now! Who says AOL members don't get perks? :p

I have attached a screenshot (resized to a width of 800) comparing what you see in AOL with what you see in Internet Explorer for this URL:

http://channelevents.aol.com/movies/lotr_keyword/

Look closely at the Arwen part of the graphic, and you'll see a difference. In the AOL version, you can click on a link to see the trailer. :D

They are two completely different genres and you idiots are trying to compare them? How about we start with the fact that, all the death in LOTR (which is a great movie imo) There isn't a single squirt, splatter or spill of blood. What kind of 'rated g' bs is that? DO NOT tell me the movie was geared towards kids. Most people under 30 don't even understand the storyline. It should have just showed insane blood and been rated R. 95% of kids hate this movie because it is so confusing to them. So next time they want to screw up a movie... .god...... shoot me....

Are you nuts ? The first time I completed the book was back in the days, when I was 11... and most of my friends and schoolmates did this at similar age too. Maybe you are talking about USA - the situation there is different, as we all know... but even for the USA, "Most people under 30 don't even understand the storyline" is quite a statement. Also, a friend of mine works in a cinema complex and when TTT was out, he was complaining, because they sold half of the tickets at low price (because Under-14 reduction in price). I know many kids in my neighbourhood and they all like the movie. And even better - most of them now have the book too... so, confusing to kids? They hate it? ... "shoot me"

To compare Matrix to LOTR is retarded. Why? Because there are 3 movies? That's about all they have in common.

Someone might not like the down-to-earth quality and fantasy aspects of LOTR and would prefer a more modern high-tech atmosphere of The Matrix, or vice versa. To say which is better is just saying which type of movie you personally prefer.

I like them both and they are totally separate types of movies in my mind. It depends on my mood.

That's a bit of a statement as well.

They're both great films. I personally prefer Matrix simply because it has stunning action sequences, the likes of which was never seen before it's time. But both movies have great storylines and visuals as well.

There was blood in the movies, example being FOTR when aragorn cut the orc's head off in moria. No there wasn't as much, but they're trying to get a wider audience. Also that age you mentioned was quite the exaggeration ;)

Yes, I did exaggerate a little on the age thing. :) Well, besides that, the blood issue... When a parent hears their kid say 'I want to see LotR' the parent doesn't go, 'ooh, look at that trailer, with all that fighting my kid won't see much blood! It's ok for johnny to go see this today!'

Didn't think so. The bottom line is that just about any parent these days will pay attention to one thing or another, the wants of the child, or a splotch of blood. Only crazy insane christian bag ladies look at the blood and cry. My point here is that they made so much money, a few thousand gallons of blood wouldn't have changed that. It would only have intensified the action. Imagine "OH MY GOD!!! A GUYSER OF BLOOD FROM THAT ORCS HEAD!!! THAT KICKS ASS!!!'

Don't argue with me, I'm right and you know it.
