Dazzla Veteran Posted September 30, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 30, 2003 After being spoilt by the 100+mb 10xx res trailer for Revolutions, their version of Large seems to grate a little. Still, it's an awesome trailer, pure shivers down the spine stuff and a far superior trailer to Rev imo. I'm disappointed they showed Shelob though :(
rezza Veteran Posted September 30, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 30, 2003 Despite the deviations from the book, I'm always amazed by how similar Ian Jackson's vision of Middle Earth is to mine - this shot of Minas Tirith looks exactly as I imagined it to look as a kid :o

pitter00patter
I love LOTR!! I saw the two Matrixs too, but Lord of the Rings beats that out! Can't wait for December!
Chris Allen Veteran Posted October 1, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 1, 2003 I'm disappointed they showed Shelob though :( Same here. I could have sworn I heard Jackson saying he wasn't going to show Shelob until the actual film. Then again, he has also been quoted as saying he wasn't going to film the fight scene between Gandalf and the Balrog...but we all know about that incredible scene from TTT now don't we. Can't wait for RoTK. The Extended Edition of TTT will have to sufice for the time being....better wait until November than December I say. Baby steps.... In the Fellowsip trailer, they showed the Belrog's leg, which was ok. Why couldn't they have just shown a little bit of Shelob? I suppose it's not as bad as showing Gandalf in the Two Towers commercials, though.
Kristian
Looking at this Shelob picture makes me think she's not so little as everyone is fearing after all :alien:

Redmak Administrators Posted October 8, 2003 Administrators Share Posted October 8, 2003 well i havent seen the 2nd lotr yet, but just comparing the first matrix to the first lotr, matrix was better imo, a much more original concept than someone trying to rule the world and someone else trying to stop them  You have to be aware that LOTR was an original concept when it was written over 50 years ago and there hasn't been anything better in that genre since. I love the matrix but to me lotr is much more interresting. Maybe I wasn't in the right mood when I watched Matrix II but I stopped it half way. A lot of action and special effects but not a real interresting and emotional story to back it up. I will try it again though because I loved part 1. Besides, Matrix is about Neo, the chosen one, who is to save the world from the machines/computers. Frodo is the chosen one to destroy the ring and save the world from darkness.
