NOD32 Antivirus Activation Fails

Question

This is ridiculous. I decided to buy NOD32 again. I have been using MSSE for over a year now, but I wanted to go back. I purchased a license and installed NOD32 Antivirus. Unfortunately, even though I copy/paste directly from my email, I am getting an activation error. No, I did not include any extra spaces or anything like that. Any idea what to do? I filed a support ticket for now, but I do not want to reinstall MSSE for a few days to stop getting bugged about activation.

I used to have the same problem Yorak.

What you want to do is basically activate like normal using your user/pass but in each field change the last character or add another character on the end to each field and submit it. After that the activation will fail of course but this time around chuck in your legit user/pass and hit activate, should work straight away.

Hope it works anyway for you, its an annoying issue.

Thanks for the advice. :) I should have mentioned before that I did try adding a character like that guide said. It would not work. So I signed up for a trial key and tried one more time after that to register it with my real username/password, and it still did not work. Just woke up a few minutes ago and tried again and it finally worked, hehe. :p Silly ESET. Anyways, thank you two. :)

Goretsky on the site might be able to help you out, because if I'm remembering correctly he's an ESET employee. He could be a good person to go to if you need a fix and for some reason ESET's email can't help you.

With you saying you've decided to buy NOD32 again, I assume you've used it previously. In which case it'll basically work just like a renewal of your previous account. Unfortunately, when you renew it can take up to 24 for the update servers to reflect that fact.

I had the same problem. I left my renewal till the last moment, and found myself unable to get updates for about 24 hours after i renewed because it said my details were wrong. I'm betting it's the same issue for you too. Just give it till tomorrow and you should be fine.

Oh yes, I thought there was an ESET fella around here. Well, I shall not bug him yet, I will give it until the end of a business day (tomorrow).

Sorry, I should have specified. I actually forgot my information, and I found a coupon code for a discount, so I just purchased a new license and it was about the same cost. I have not had it installed in about a year and a half.

Cripe!

After each reply to you, you turn around and say you forgot to mention, I should have mentioned, or I lied about something!

Are you SURE this is a legitimate license for this product?

Anyway,

The 24 hour thing that TCLN Ryster mentioned is most likely your issue. I've seen that same thing a few times before.

Relax. This is a legitimate license. Why would I be confused about a pirated copy not properly registering? And I say things I forgot to mention because I did not realize they applied to the situation until somebody mentioned them. And it has been over 24 hours.

Hello,

Do you have two piece of information with your license, such as a username and password (two separate strings, one of which that begins like "EAV-#######" and the other which is random) or do you have a serial number or activation code which is a single string to enter?

If the former, try typing them manually into the program, making sure that things like the lower-case letter "L" and the number "1", upper case "O" and the number "" are not mis-typed.

If you have a single string, try using the activation form at http://www.eset.com/activate to activate it, which should send you a username and password, and enter those manually into the program.

If neither of those work, you can call ESET North America toll-free at +1 (866) 343-3738 and ask for customer care.

Regards,

Aryeh Goretsky
