Prophecy
Well yesterday I picked up a great deal at good yard sale. There it was a classic NES system MINT condition with 5 games, 2 guns and 4 controllers. So I got all the stuff. 1 AC adaptor 1 console 4 Controllers 2 Guns 1 set of RCA wires. RED, WHITE and yellow So you would thinik this would be fairly simple. Hook the red in the Audio/red jack Hook the Yello in the Video/Yellow jack and the white in RF switch jack.. Switch to Channel 4 and it should work. Well problem.. I have a newer tv.. bout 5 years old and the system on works on the "VIDEO channel" All my consoles work this way.. My Dvd player, My VCR everything works on the Video chanel. They will work on Channel Video not 3 or 4.. So I can get the NES to work on the video channel but no sound.. :( I cannot for the life of me get the sound to work.. Any ideas? Proph
Malechai Veteran Posted September 28, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 28, 2003 do you only have mono input? otherwise connect the white to the white rca jack... you shouldnt be needing the rf switch if you've got yellow rca video in
Prophecy
The back of my TV has the three inputs, red, yellow, white and ofcourse coaxile too.. Are you saying dont PLUG in the white? at all?
Statikk
plug white into white and leave the red out if still no sound then try the red in the white on both the console and the tv..maybe the white cable has a break in it

Icarus ^i^
hmm.. strange that the seller left out the adaptor. The nes originally came with one that looked different than the one on ebay, but as long as they give the same result :)
