0 +longgonebn Subscriber² Posted November 19, 2011 Author Subscriber² Share Posted November 19, 2011 Yes but uTorrent still needs to be installed to use that no?
0 whitebread
You could use a seedbox: http://www.boxslots.com/ Edit: you upload the .torrent file, the server downloads the torrent, then you can download the files either using HTTP or FTP
0 +longgonebn Subscriber² Posted November 20, 2011 Author Subscriber² Share Posted November 20, 2011 So there really is no web based only torrent program. Usenet has it, why not torrents? * I found to Firefox extensions "FoxTorrent" & "FireTorrent" but both are not working with version 8, or 6 or 7 for that matter. Those would be perfect. 0 +Xinok Subscriber² Posted November 20, 2011 Subscriber² Share Posted November 20, 2011 I found this, it uses Java to run a bittorrent client in your browser. http://www.bitlet.org/
0 +longgonebn Subscriber² Posted November 20, 2011 Author Subscriber² Share Posted November 20, 2011 I found that as well but it's crap. You have to enter the URL on the page, can't open torrent with. It opens a new window for the download, and you have no options except for pause. Not really a client. 0 Jub
Opera has it built-in, I don't know if that's anything you'd be interested in.
0 -Alex-
http://tf-b4rt.berlios.de/ TorrentFlux-b4rt - it's the best, and it's what all the seedboxes use...
0 articuno1au
Usenet doesn't have it. Usenet has a program installed that is controlled be WebUI. Just like uTorrent.
0 +longgonebn Subscriber² Posted November 20, 2011 Author Subscriber² Share Posted November 20, 2011 Yes but uTorrent is also a program. Usenet (Sabnzbd) is installed, but only opens in the browser. uTorrent is a desktop program and a WebUI, pointless to have the desktop program if only using the WebUI. 0 Teebor
Why not just use the webUI for uTorrent, you have to have a program running somewhere For example I have uTorrent running permanently on a server at home and I only ever interact with it via a web browser or Android app If something goes REALLY wrong with it I'm actually thankful I can interrogate it further with an actual running application by remotely connecting to my server. There is always the beta of the next iteration of uTorrent that you could try, from what I understand its completely web based but I think it has a few bugs last time I checked also you could check utorrent remote - https://remote.utorrent.com/ utorrent plus - http://www.utorrent.com/community/labs/plus can't rembmer which was the buggy one last I checked
0 +Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted November 25, 2011 Subscriber² Share Posted November 25, 2011 bman: You seem confused. uTorrent has a browser UI, but requires an app to be running on your system. What usenet app works in a different way to this? None. There HAS to be an app running somewhere, be it your system or on a server. Be it a full blown app or a java applet.
