AshMan
I remember there was a great discussion (was it here or on the Official ST Forum? I can?t remember) but many people were complaining about the Russell Watson song on the opening credits of the new StarTrek Enterprise franchise. I have to say that I wasn?t overly impressed with lyrics on the opening credit as with the other StarTreks, the orchestral music did wonders and I was hoping that Enterprise would have an orchestral tune to it. Anyhow, over time I got use to the Russell Watson song ?Faith of the heart? and started to like it. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that there was indeed an orchestral piece composed for Enterprise and I now have it. BUT it does no justice at all to the show and I can see why it was replaced. It sounds a little like ST:DS9 but it does not have that same depth or impact. I have the file but I can?t find a host the MPG on. It?s 14MB but I have converted it into a WMV file but it?s still a bit too big for some hosts. Do you guys know where I can place it to let you hear it? mlerner
FYI Faith of the heart is sung by Rod Stewart not Russel Watson.

bluekelt
I have versions of Faith of the Heart sung by both Rod Stewart and Russell Watson but it is the Russell Watson version that is used on Enterprise. Catch you all later, Blue
Dessimat0r
Use BitTorrent to share the load of distributing it.
OPaul
I think the alternative opening music went a lot better with the Star Trek theme as opposed to Faith of the Heart, not that there is anything wrong with the song but the alternative one just seems more Star Treky. I love it near the end where it whips out the TNG remix.

AshMan
Here you go, I've found a smaller audio file of the music. What do you guys make of it? Star_Trek_Enterprise___Alternate_Intro.zip
Aragorn
I hate to be rude, but congrats on finding the Star Trek Generations Overture. Thats not no damned remix, its just the Generations Overture. Go pick up the Generations Soundtrack. The only alteration to new "Faith of the Heart" is now a acoustic guitar is prevalent. Sorry man, whoever told you that was a alternate intro, don't know what he's talking about or lied. :)
dougkinzinger
Jeez, you all can't get your facts right. First you can't figure out who sang "Faith". Then, you post the ST:G overture. Man people, Enterprise is doomed for destruction anyway. By 2004, Paramount/Viacom will step in and add someone else to the high rank which Rick Berman holds and that person will be an outsider. That outsider will cancel Ent and start a new series which will rock our worlds. Course, this is all speculation, but this is coming from the man who predicted that Microsoft would one day buy out Visio (ShapeWare) back in 1994. They did. ;)
KTamas
Hmm....I like ST, I like Enterprise especially...and I like the new opening theme. Yep, it's a bit DS9...But it's better, than the "old" song. IMHO....
QuarterSwede
I like it no matter what is was originally used for ... although, the quality sucked hardcore (16kbps!?)
EmuZombie Veteran Posted September 29, 2003 Veteran Share Posted September 29, 2003 as long as we're on the subject of a new series, wouldnt it be great to have a series about the federation time ship relativity? You know, the one that was in the voyager episode "relativity". :) also, am i the only one who noticed they're calling it "star trek enterprise" now instead of just enterprise?
