Software like K9 Web Protection... but network based...

Question

Hello,

Being using K9 Web-Protection for a long time .. its been a good solution for category based web-filtering.. but i would like to have some alternative which supports network based setting and all .. i have to go physically to each pc and have to allow false positives or allowing temporary access to certain sites... !

e.g. i would like to apply different policies on different computers or policies according to users... !

Regards,

Off the top squid with squidguard comes to mind. Is done at the gateway or some other box that you use on your network as the proxy and only allow that machine out, etc. vs on each machine. And you can quite easy setup different rules for different users and or IP addresses, etc..

http://dansguardian.org/ is a product using squid as well.

bluecoat makes a hardware web filter as well (they make k9)
