DoubleJ
I just noticed that if I try to run a search from the start menu, I get an error saying there is a file missing and when the window opens, there is nothing in the left panel. The panel is there, but the search options aren't. I tried the system file checker and all that did was replace the uxtheme.dll file I modified to use unsigned themes. Is there any way to get windows to "reinstall" but only replace files that are missing? Or, does anyone know how to reinstall the search files seperately/manually? Hope someone knows, otherwise I'll end up reinstalling completely!:s Thanks in advance.
mtgriffith
Before you do anything drastic (reload) see if this helps. You can get windows to scan itself at startup. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;EN-US;Q222193 If this doesn't help (and if anyone else doesn't have a better suggestion) you can try booting from your Windows CD and trying a repair instead of an install.
