How to Paint A Portrait with Computer?

Recommended Posts

Can you explain in a bit more detail what you're trying to do and why?

For example:

Look at my sig, how to draw/paint it with certain software? I mean, you should paint it as true as the photo. Like to paint your head portrait, you should guarantee that when others look at your portrait, they will doubtless say:"Oh, it is you! Nice!", but not be astonished:"Who the heck is this dud?(not dude)".

No wonder, with our clumsy mouse cannot do it in Microsoft's Drawing or Word. Cos you cannot control it accurately.

MS Draw or Word are not suitable for the task you require anyway. Use Photoshop, PSP or GIMP.

Agreed the mouse is not suitable, but it wasn't designed for such a task, it was a derivative of the "puck" used to interact with early GUIs. I use a digital tablet, it allows varying pressure levels and more accurate movements.

I very much doubt you will ever draw "as true as the photo" though. You'd have to be infinately superb (almost literally) with Photoshop.

I'm not an artist so this is just a guess, but I'm thinking most of them use programs like photoshop, illustrator, paintshop, painter, etc. If you want to do 3d modeling then it's a whole different story. As far as the control I think probably the best thing you could get would be a graphics tablet. One of those pads with the pen.
