Alphabet taught to kids nowadays

They've lost me a long time ago. Version 6.6 was the last one I used for more than looking around. Burning ROM worked nice with CDs and DVDs, Wave Editor, while not much related to disc stuff, was good, too, I was able to remove hiss and static from my home-taping (*cough*) like a baus. And it all was in some 30 MB package that installed in under a minute and ran like Roadrunner on steroids.

Then Ahead guys decided that CD burning and disc related things wasn't enough and instead of making a number of separate product lines made a Multimedia Suite Ultra Premium bloatbundle weighting over 100 MB, installing some 15 mins or so. With a fancy media player, a fancy video editor, a fancy picture editor, a fancy DJ software that was Not Responding and help files that had to be downloaded separately anyway. Hard disk was thrashing, PC couldn't chew it. Very bad experience (on a related note, just like with Norton AV).

Perhaps they've fixed it but I had burned my fingers once and want no more.

Sure, you can get a multimedia package OPTIONALLY, but it's exactly that. Nothing compares to Nero Burning ROM; it's a great piece of software!

And for your PC not being able to "chew" a 100mb installer, something's seriously wrong with your PC.

Well, yes, it wasn't a powerhouse. It was 2005. It was a laptop with a superslow hard drive. I would not guess that I'd need a high-end workstation for home entertainment, though

Ok, anyways, I'll respect your say that it's fine. I'd still argue that it isn't a brand comparable to Facebook or Google.

What's so wrong with Nero? I love it!

You should be banned from the internet.

I agree with you Ambroos completely.

Anyone using Nero or pretty much mentioning (unless you say something like what Ambroos said about it) should be banned from a computer.

Interesting, seeing as how I run quite a successful IT company, operating on the internet... but yet, hmm, maybe I'm not as smart as someone starting a thread entitled "If I have a nut allergy, can I eat squirrel?"...
